YouTube wants me to be a Door Dasher. It keeps giving me ads of people talking up their jobs as dashers and how great it is. I’ve never ordered food there, nor have I looked into working for them….

Kind of annoying to me how people can't accept that some people will just not like a piece of media for very valid reasons. I really hate it when people essentially go "the people who hate [certain thing] are stupid because they don't know how to appreciate it like I do ^_^" like...? You're not above someone else for preferring pancakes over waffles. Maybe just try to surround youself with people who have the same interests as you instead of putting down people who don't have the same interests. Idk
It's like. Me with Pokemon. Yes the graphics are ass the framerate can be extremely wonky but I enjoyed the newer games regardless!! And I'm not gonna try and put people down for not enjoying Pokemon because of its caveats. They are still very valid points and I agree. Also me with ACNH, there have been a lot of criticisms on the game and I've read a good chunk and I'm like!! Yea I can definitely see where people are coming esp those hoping ACNH would be similar to previous installments. I enjoyed ACNH for the decorating but people who don't like ACNH still bring up very good points why they are disappointed!! Idk why people find it hard to accept that every piece of media will have criticism and comments
It's a big reason why I've kinda detached myself from plenty of fandoms, people just cannot behave properly because they think their opinions on the piece of media are above everyone else's Let people!! Enjoy things!! And not enjoy things! We don't have to needlessly attack people for having opposing views on a certain piece of media if the issue isn't inherently wrong. If it is wrong, something discriminatory in form, then yes I am all for calling people out, but if it's about the pure enjoyment someone derives from a certain media then idk a lot of times it's not that serious. It really just gets to a point and a lot of times the actual game or show is spoiled for me because people are ruining it by not being respectful of each other. Sigh

I hope you don’t mind me replying. I just want to say I agree with you 100%. Constructive criticism is one thing but insulting people for not agreeing is just disrespectful. like big supporters of Nintendo or really any company insulting people who aren’t happy with something.
I think discussions with both people you agree with and disagree with is good as long as it can stay constructive. There have been a couple times where my opinion changed because I was receptive to what people who felt differently said.
I feel you. The Genshin fandom in particular is one I want to stay the furthest away. I’ve seen some nice people and funny posts but in the comments I see some people openly telling people off and criticizing every post like their tier list, good bye posts. Like, sure some of that is annoying but people can just skip it and let others enjoy sharing their thoughts.
The fandoms I used to chat with back in high school and early college were really great though. I chatted on tumblr about some games like Final Fantasy and on Bioware, about Dragon Age. Met a lot of nice people there. Can’t get into fandoms anymore, though. Too much toxicity.
big yup!! i love seeing tier lists because i know so many people will have different takes, and i find it interesting to know someone based on how they rate certain characters. it's mostly just a silly thing and I will never understand people who get so worked up over tier lists that dont align with their own perferences
and yes i definitely support constructive criticism and discussion where it should matter!! it's a shame that people online can get really carried away with their emotions and words that they end up hurting people over their own opinions on things. again if it's not inherently discriminatory or wrong then there really isn't a solid right way to enjoy something. to each their own definitely
slightly related but it does remind me of how me and some friends will have collectibles we like and don't like, and our opinions are almost never unanimous haha. still, it's fun to talk about collectibles and just collect whatever we like for whatever reason. i think the same should be for many types of media, we should be respectful of whatever opinions people have of certain art forms as long as theyre not hurtful

I agree 100%. This is true in everything, nothing is perfect especially when it comes to media we consume. The cartoon/animation fandom is notoriously bad for most things like ship wars and I always steer clear of the cartoon fandom because the fandom there is a constant warzone with people just exhibiting superiority complexes against each other instead of discussing in a civil manner and with nuance.
I couldn't get into new popular cartoons or flavor of the month cartoons because of the said fandom I mentioned above.
This is why I basically just stick to obscure cartoons or games nowadays, barely anyone knows them or they have such a tiny community that there's literally no such thing as ship wars.

I keep seeing ads on yt for robot puppies and it makes me feel extremely uncomfortable lol
I described one of these ads to a friend because it seemed suspicious and I was pretty much told "Yeah that's a scam".
For context I had also seen a non-video version of the ad with an AI-generated image, leading me to believe the product isn't real. The video version had a fake voice I didn't like, too.

I wonder how many people, who are currently librarians, knew that they wanted to be a librarian when they were younger? it seems like I've seen quite a few librarians who say that they came into the career somewhat by accident, and I have to agree. if you'd asked me when I was in high school if I wanted to be a librarian, I'd be very confused lol. now I couldn't imagine doing anything else.

i tried a very small amount of wine today (with parental supervision) and i honestly don’t know how anybody drinks it. HEAVY chemical taste, it tastes like how rubbing alcohol smells. i guess it’s safe to say i will be sticking with non-alcoholic beverages in the near future lol
I miss my Oreo cookies and BBQ chips.

Our cats are more needing and high maintenance than our dog, who just wants to lounge around most of the time.
I had quite an exciting day today that really brought my neighbors together.
There was a standoff between the police and an armed gunman right outside my house. It lasted a couple of hours, until swat arrived. Flashbangs and tear gas ended it. I may be weird, but it was kind of fun!
