Random question, but what is the shortest time you've seen a villager ping you after the previous ping? Sorry I couldn't word this better. Just now Pudge asked me to deliver something to Hazel. I ran past her and she pinged me to sell me a shirt. After I talked to her and delivered the shirt and reported back to Pudge, not even a minute later O'hare pinged me to change his catchphrase. I thought it generally takes a couple minutes (and sometimes even some hiding) for villagers to ping you? This throws the wetsuit rule out the window.

Bonus question: what's the longest time it's taken a villager to ping after the previous one?

Mine tend to be frequent at times too. Almost always as soon as I step outside, Peewee is lurking behind my house or in my lemon trees and makes his happy dash for me.

Then as I walk on the west side, someone there asks for hide n seek or am I pretzel or chocolate. East side is like let me visit your house now or I need fruit waah!

I..I just want to dig up my bamboo shoots and fossils in peace..please.

If you play for more then an hour, villagers stop pinging you. They'll say that you've been playing too long and should sleep or something...so I'm pretty sure the longest ping has to be less than an hour to be accurate.

I feel like if I talk to them a lot after not talking to them for a while they pobg me often. However if I talk to them often they won't ping as much. I never tracked it too much though although Felicity oh my gosh she is so needy and pings all the time.

I've noticed that they have been pinging more in the last few months. Talked to a villager asking them what was new 3 times before walking away. I got a ping right away from another villager. Not sure but maybe Katrina fortune has something to do with. Example high friendship days and wearing the lucky item might be getting the extra pings. I have the lovely phone so I rarely check with Katrina. Next time they go on a pinging spree I'll check with Katrina to see what fortune I have.

I've gone 3 hours without a villager pinging me. I talked to one and than went to the store to work on my catalog. My hour of play time was up so no one would speak to me until I spoke to another villager.
