Pet peeves with AC travelers

So I am really starting to take off with my town and I feel really comfortable about letting other online travelers in. I play with a relative from time to time so I know I can trust him. However there is always that one traveler that pulls in at the station that does something so upsetting you just want to shut your gates forever! But then how would you really enjoy the game to the full extent because of someone's trespasses?
I always greet the traveler and ask if they are looking for something in particular. Courtesy from the hostess. Anyways, I let one person in from a town called "Hell" which should have been my first red flag. Greet and asked the question and all replies were pleasant. I had other travelers there who were talking and poking fun and having a great time. I noticed from this one that not much was said. I started noticing my prized hybrids missing here and there. My black tulips, lilies, pink cosmos and roses. And if anyone knows, hybrids are hard to get going. I only had one of each. This traveler could have asked and maybe I wouldn't been raising such a big stink about it here on the forums. I hate it when people grab, go, and then make a run for it. I told this traveler I could hold onto the next ones for her but it wasn't good enough. So here's to starting all over again.
So to all of you out there who are reading this...what are some of your traveler pet peeves? What makes you want to claw your nails against the chalkboard?

I have had one player in my town and he is one of thee most sweetest friends I have ever met, still waiting to give him his gold axe and silver axes back lol. In the other games like wild world...I had seeds dropped all over my town, a gracie car, rocks and a second house :s. In city folk I had flowers taken and trees chopped down. I don't plan on allowing people into my town until I know for certain they are trustworthy! Heck if I go to a persons town, I don't touch nothing or run, most of the time just fish or stand around and chat or do whatever the owner wants to.

After reading a few threads of what has happened to other players towns makes me even more leery now, I don't understand the griefing mentality. I would honestly prefer to go to other people's towns after they get to know me online.

Mostly just when people run or take anything without asking. I usually let visitors take what they want (fruit, some flowers and anything I've left out/buried underground before opening my gates) but I had a bad experience with a girl who I knew from outside AC just running everywhere, shaking all the trees and hitting rocks without permission. When I went to greet her she just said hi and took off (trampling many of my flowers in the process)

Luckily it's easy to disconnect with the wifi switch but it's a pain sometimes when you're enjoying with other polite people.

Don't let one sour apple spoil your fun. That's the way I look at it. This has happened to me a couple times in City Folk. Has yet to of happened to me in New Leaf.

Yes! Try to stay hopeful in meeting respectful players. I've been very fortunate. I've only had very sweet and kind players come into my town. Before I reset, my town had loads of junk, but also valuable items and not once did I feel like I had to tell them to not take anything or not to run. Never did I get anything stolen. If it makes you feel any better, private messaging players before letting them into your town would help you get to know them a little, and perhaps you'll feel more comfortable. There's nothing better than having people in your town that you can trust and not having to worry about your town being damaged.

I was afk for 15 minutes and had forgotten my towngate was still open (my fault really). When I came back, 6 (6!) baskets of perfect cherries where gone that I had just stored there for selling at a friends later. I don't know who and why but I was pissed... makes me not want to open my gate anymore.

But once the person has left (which happened while I was still afk) it auto-saves so it doesn't work. I am currently trying to reach a person that wrote on my notice-board while I was afk to get more information about what happened. I also noticed all the presents my husband left me (the reason wifi was on in the first place) were missing too

I haven't let strangers into my town yet and I don't think I will any time soon. I only allow my close friends into my town because I know they won't ever do anything. Sorry that happened to you though

I love having people over because its just fun to talk and hang out. So, I was looking at different threads when I came across someone who had just gotten the game and wanted to play. I willingly accepted and went to her town, then she came to mine. We hung out and had a blast, but then I had to go. I said: "I have to go now so..." And she said oh ok bye. In my head I thought: you should leave! And the girl immediately ran the other way. She shook all of my fruit trees, except for the cherries, and even took two of my hybrids. I walked over there trying to play "dumb" and I caught her while shaking a tree and she ran towards the police station. I was super mad and immediately just turned off my wifi. When I came back she said. (We bet friended each other for some reason..?) "why did you do that?" I responded with, "You took most of my fruit and some hybrids." She stated that she only wanted the fruit and didn't know that she took the hybrids -_-.
Oh well. That doesn't stop me from playing on multiplayer.

I only play online with people that I know in real life. Like people from high school or college, I have only met 1 person online that I like and allow to play with me.

When I had City Folk, I had a lot of close calls.
One girl came to my village. She was sweet, Funny, And was a pleasure to be with.
She said she would like a hybrid, If that was ok with me. Since I had 4 hybrids each, I said yes. I also had 2 other visitors, both were boys. So me and her were the only girls.
Imagine my surprise when I found out that half of my hybrids were gone.
I sent her some mail (We added each other after the visit, I hadn't noticed the hybrids were missing), Asking if she took the hybrids. She sent something back with a present. The letter said this:
"Dear Jenny, are you're hybrids gone? When me and the others were fishing, one of them took the hybrids. they took 2 of each hybrids you had. But I have something that can help.. Open the present.
Signed, Marianne"
I opened it, And a black rose was inside.. The only hybrid I didn't have.
That rose is still in my ACCF home.

I've visited a few towns and I was able to feel the paranoia from the host even though I just stayed by the train station or wherever they instructed. This is most likely due to bad experiences prior to my visit. I get it. This one time I visited a town to catalog items and the very nice and gracious but very cautious player disconnected me the second I was done picking up and dropping items. That's fine, but I was going to head back to my town at that moment anyway, and I didn't have time to properly say 'thank you' and to drop the golden nuggets that I brought as a gift for their troubles!

He must be REALLY paranoid. Whenever I went over to some person's village, half of them didn't care if I picked a Non-hybrid flower, While others got mad that I picked a REGULAR flower. In their eyesight.

I've had similar experiences. A lot of VERY paranoid people and "take your stuff and get out". A few have blatantly told me I was taking to long while trying to bang out "thank you" with the stylus.

A few days ago, I opened my gate to let some of my friends come in. I forgot that someone who I had traded with was still on my friends list. He was from another AC website. He came in my town, said "Hi can I pick a hybrid? I'm working on a garden." I said yes. He ran around town, destroying the paths and the flowers I had collected. He went to my hybrid garden and destroyed half of my hybrids. He took my black rose. Luckily, I switched the Wi-Fi off before he left.

You guys need to report these people in the "Blacklist" thread. It needs to be known that they're horrible people who have zero respect for their fellow gamers.

Nothing pisses me off more than these immature losers who have nothing better to to than knowingly mess up someone else's town. Thankfully nothing like that has happened to me...yet. The closest thing to an offense is someone pulling up my beloved clovers (yeah technically they're weeds but I like mine, and had planted several lucky clover intentionally). But he put the lucky ones back and the others grew back next spring, so no harm done.
