The other day we found this kitten that had been abandoned in my grandmother's garden, and she was so adorable! About the size of my hand, and we got to look after her as we (luckily) found her a new family (sadly we couldn't keep her.)

How often do you guys tend to run into abandoned/injured animals, and what do you normally do with them?

She is adorable! <3 I am partial to black and white cats.

Yeah we've had a fair share of stray cats that roam around, usually they will pick an area to stick around. Be careful if you're in a residential area that if you 'take' a cat that its not someone's pet they let roam around. There have been cats we thought were strays that were actually belonged to someone and were hitting up all the houses on the street because someone would feed them, lol.

One cat came to my house 2 years ago out of no where :)

He became a permanent member of our family! :D
He is an angel hes just perfect
I'm 100% God sent him to me

Your kitten is adorable!
I would use a website or something to find someone who is looking for a kitten
But
I usually just adopt them lol

Aww what a cutie! I'm glad she was able to find a home! I've actually never found a stray animal before which is probably a good thing because I'd want to keep them all. I have found a few lost dogs and helped them get home though!

This actually happened to my Aunt recently. A cat started hanging around her house all day and she thought it was a stray so she would feed it. Turns out it was actually her new neighbor's and it just realized that if it sat on her porch it could get an extra meal lol

She is soooo cute! I'm glad you found her a good home ♡

My boy cat initially arrived at our front door as a stray which was totally baffling as you never usually see the type of breed he is just roaming around. We tracked down his owner (and I'm using that term loosely) who explained he "just got out" and that her new boyfriend didn't like him anyway so would we keep him?? Easiest decision I've ever made lmao 4 years on he is my best friend and angel. He's been through some **** himself but is the most gentle boy ever.

I've also found injured fledglings before and tried my best to keep them comfortable until the RSPCA arrived but unfortunately that didn't have such a happy ending... I still feel awful for not being able to save them but apparently nothing much could have been done :/ I could never just leave an animal in need though. I had people telling me to "put them out of their misery" and while that may?!? have been 'kinder' the thought still makes me shudder, I just don't operate that way ya know?

She is soooo cute!! My last cat that I had was also a tuxedo kitty and he was such a sweetheart and always full of love. He did sadly pass away due to old age, but he lived a loooong 16 years and we were always with him all the way until his final moments. We had adopted him when he was already 12 years old, so he was pretty old to begin with, but gosh he was beautiful. I’ll even attach a lil picture of him!

I feel as if my partner and I have some sort of weird energy that just attracts cats to us, because I swear that no matter where we go we are always running into cats! They usually are either feral or have collars, and so the majority of the time we leave them alone. However, if it is ever late at night and we find a kitty, we will try our best to find it’s owner if the cat has a collar. We have yet to ever take a cat to the shelter if it doesn’t have a collar, but it is a habit I want to get in the tempo of doing in the case any kitties are ever actually lost.

I have also wanted to start volunteering at shelters because I want to be able to give kitties that are scared and confused love and comfort. I feel as if that is what my cat would have wanted, and so I want to honor the feeling! I am also fortunate to live in a no-kill city, so no animals are put down unless they have absolutely no quality of life left in them.

I haven't run into any in a long time. Last spring there was a cat that kept wandering around my neighborhood, but she was way too clean and well fed looking to be a stray. She was super cute and if she had seemed more like a stray, I probably would've taken her in.

Probably the saddest story I have in regards to baby animals is, also last spring, after a storm there was a nest in a tree in my backyard that must've gotten blown out or something. The nest was on the ground, the unhatched eggs looked like a snake or something had eaten them, and there was 1 baby bird that had been hatched that was already dead. :( I decided the best thing to do for it was give it sort of a sky burial. There's a flock of vultures that lives in the woods that's not even 2 minutes walk from my house. I put the baby bird on the ground underneath the tree that the vultures like to sleep in the most. I didn't see the baby bird's body the next day, so something (vulture or not) ate it. I like to think a vulture ate it, and then the baby indirectly gets to fly via being food for the vulture.

What a handsome chap! Anyone who adopts a senior kitty immediately has my respect - so many people pass them up not realising they still have so much to give. I'm sure you made his twilight years wonderful ♡

Oh man, my family rescues so many animals! As a rule, we don't buy animals. Right now, we have three dogs and four cats, all happy rescues. It's really cool to see their transformations - they go from being these scared little things to happy animals with big personalities. A bunch of the animals we've rescued over the years have come from really bad situations - puppy mills, abandoned on the side of the road, dumped in the woods, hoarding situations, that kind of thing. It's really rewarding to think you can make a difference for one animal.

Awww, that kitty is so cute and it makes me happy to hear that she's going to have a home.

I haven't come across many animals on the street in need of rescue, but I did find some lost dogs and kept them on my porch until their owners picked them up. I couldn't bear to leave an animal alone and at risk.

There are a lot of cats that wander around my neighborhood but some of them are outdoor cats with owners and some are ferals. I can't always tell which is which since none of them have collars, so as long as they seem healthy I leave them to their own devices.

Never.
And I'd never take in a "stray" unless it's in need of medical attention, or a kitten.
Nobody can know if a cat is stray or not, and it disturbs me that people will just take a pet and claim it as their own because they "found it".

max was our resident, large and fat cat who owned the block we used to live on. he was fat bc atleast two families were feeding him a good amount, and he would go from house to house meowing and begging for food even tho he already ate
during the time we lived there he just spent so much time with us and kind of became our cat, when my sister lived there alone he would come inside all day and go out in the night
well now we brought him to our new house, where he's always warm and has access to clean water and gets two meals a day and is on a damn diet bc hes still a bit tubby. but now he's mostly just a large cat other than that.
he is spoiled and loves it so much lol
oh! and he used to come home with scabs and scratches from fighting competing kitties in the neighbourhood.. so now he's safe from that and is a lot less anxious around us! now he just has to deal with my cat who's a little turd and likes to tackle him even tho she's half his size lmao
