Anyone regret where they've placed permanent PWPs or Mayor home? I do! I love my current town but I've placed my house in a really awkward spot. It's placed in the very top corner of town near the waterfall area. My plan was that I'd place my house here and later put a bridge so this would be easier on me but when I went to put a bridge Isabelle kept saying this was too close to my house. Now there is a skinny strip of land and a large lake area that I have to walk all the way around to get to the bridge.
I regretted where I placed the Campsite in a town I have since reset, Temps.
I am glad I placed The Roost Caf? in the center of Applewin. It makes for navigating the town pretty interesting. In a Dream Address visit, you just cross over from the northern to the southern sections of town. You do a little wrap-around and are in front of The Roost Caf?.
In my showcase town, ACNLpics, I refrained from having built a Campsite and a Police Station. I was more focused on methodically arranging, as best I could help it, where to locate villagers. I literally did some grids, on Day #01, for estimating where to allow incoming villagers to locate their house. I ended up handling it well. But, I pretty much ran out of options to include the Police Station (which I wanted more than a Campsite; this town isn't even actively being played by me now because it's a showcase town for visitors to check out the villager pictures on display in the human houses).
When I have built permanent buildings, I locate them away from human and villager houses. I tend to like to locate a Police Station next to another permanent building, like the Town Hall and/or Re-Tail Shop. I let them be neighbors.
For Campsite locations, I imagine them placed somewhere that's likely not to receive incoming villagers moving immediately next door. Of course, the exception with that is in Applewin, my first town, because the Campsite is on the southeast corner of town. Neigbhoring it are Hamlet (west) and Scoot (north). But a path, for walking, and an east/west line of red hibiscus bushed help that Campsite feel a little bit private.
"Animal Crossing: New Leaf" inspires one to be creative. If you come to have regrets, but are willing to work with and around those regrets, you have to get creative with what you do next.
