I had the perfect town rating for a while, but have somewhat redesigned my town with a lush forest in the northern half. I have filled in some areas with mushrooms and clovers, and my public works projects have not changed.

That said, I know that I have too many trees in my town to maintain the perfect town rating. I have also added a playable character but haven't upgraded his tent to a house--it fits more in line with the theme that he lives in a tent. My understanding is that this negatively affects the score.

Is there any reason to worry about this? I already have the floral clock PWP...but part of me is thinking at the least I should pick all of the clovers (even though I like the character they add to the town). What are benefits of maintaining a perfect town, besides more Jacob's Ladders?

I don't think there is any reason to worry about your score unless you want more Jacob's Ladders. On the AC wiki, here are the requirements for a perfect town:

"In total, the town must contain between 110 and 200 trees, of any type. There must also be at least 75 flowers of any type. At least 10 public works projects are needed, but the Dream Suite, Fortune Shop, Museum upgrade, Town Hall designs, and Train Station designs do not count. There must be no more than 10 weeds of any type, no more than 10 items on the ground, including fruit and lost items, and there must be no trash on the ground or buried under the ground."

Of course you do need to maintain the perfect town for 15 or so days to get a golden watering can, but I assume you already have that.

The clovers don't impact your score as well. There really is no reason to pick up stuff or maintain a perfect town. Moriyo is perfect in my eyes, even thou it has stuff on the ground. The ore around my town tree make a 'spell circle', which is 6 items already on the ground. I used to have clothes on the ground, which would add up to over ten. I don't use the Jacobs Ladders really, so there is no reason for me to have that 'perfect town' established by their rules.

Honestly you dont need a perfect town for anything other than Jacob's Ladder mainly, the tent and clovers shouldnt be impacting the perfect town

Edit: Made a mistake in typing that i didnt notice :3

But clovers don't count as weeds. I have alot of them in Moriyo, Isabelle never said "Mayor pick up your dang clovers, they're weeds."

I don't think the tent ruins the perfect town rating and like everyone else said, the clovers don't affect it at all.

That is so helpful!!! Thank you. I think I might actually need more tress then.

How many trees do you have haha. I'm pretty sure 110-200 are needed for perfect town rating. But besides that, you wouldn't need to worry about the rating since it doesn't affect your town in any way, other than the flower clock (which you said you already have) and the Jacob's ladders. Unless you want more Jacob's ladders then I'd say try to get the rating back, but if you don't, then you're fine. (Plus, I think some people sell Jacob's ladder on here anyway)
