i'm a little confused about something. i've gotten perfect town status before, i have about 7 jacobs ladders to prove it. when i got it i only had a few pwp's. i had a few benches and the sculpture thing that looks like a tooth. i recently tore it down cause i didn't like it anymore. when i checked my town status isabelle told me i needed more pwp's so i built some more. i have way more in my town than i did before when i got perfect town but she keeps telling me to build more!
how is it that i had a perfect town with just four or five pwp's before and now i have at least ten and i no longer have perfect town and she keeps telling me to build more?! do my animals miss the sculpture thing? should i rebuild it?

then why did i have it before when i only had four or five?

i remember this happening to me. i don't know the exact reason but is it possible you didn't have many community projects suggested when you had a perfect town before? which would of course make it impossible for you have 10+ in the first place? other than that i could imagine maybe you're just skirting the tree limit

I think each PWP is worth a certain amount of 'points', e.g. illuminated stuff and garbage can is worth less points than, like, flower arch and flower bed & clock.

that could be it. maybe the archway sculpture is worth a lot of points. but i recently built the tower and stonehenge and the cube sculpture. i would think those were worth as much as the archway sculpture. but maybe not.

Yeah, I didn't have anywhere near ten PWPs when I got perfect town. I had police station, cafe, instrument shelter, stone tablet, fountain and lighthouse I think. They were well spread out over the town if that's also a factor.

Also I've heard from people that some PWPs actually reduce the town quality - obnoxious, illuminated or (presumably) noisy things like the video screen and drilling rig, as well as the public garbage can. Beats me why they'd include those if they inherently make your town worse...

A friend of mine (hi Snow!) was telling me the other day that pwp that are kind of natural or "art" add perfect town points, but items that are anti nature like the tower, illuminated projects etc have negative points and can actually hurt the town score. I have a lot of illuminated pwp but also have a dedicated forest district that seems to balance them out. Swaping the arch sculpture with its +pints for the tower with -points might be the reason?

I'm working on The Perfect Town right now. I am planting more trees, already have lots of flowers, and should have sufficent Public Works Projects. It's now a matter of the daily community assessments.

no. i have more trees than ever! i just don't get it. lol.
That could be the problem. I had the max number of pwps but still no perfect town so I thought I needed more bushes/trees/bamboo but I actually needed less! After cutting down a load of trees and bamboo I had the perfect rating and was able to demolish many of the pwps without it changing.

In addition to what everyone's saying, has a villager moved out recently? Their houses count as projects too and that can mess with the PWP count if someone left.

You might also want to look into "abundant living" and "abundant nature" rating - I've heard that if there's an imbalance between the types of PWP you're building, it can also interfere with the perfect rating.

Abundant Nature PWPs

- Good: Flower Clock, Flower Bed, Flower Arch, Wisteria Trellis, Straw Fence, topiaries, Solar Panels, Wind Power Generator, Windmill
- Bad: Garbage Can, Jumbo Monitor, Oil Excavator, Tire Play Equipment, Picnic Sheet, Traffic Light, illumination items, Tower

Abundant Living PWPs

- Best: Campground
- Good: bridges, benches, outside lights, Garden Chair, Hot Spring, Fire Hydrant, Stadium Lights, Solar Panels, Lighthouse
- OK: almost everything else including Water Well, Fountain, clocks, Signboard, Face Board, signs, art, monuments, etc.
- Bad: Garbage Can

Basically, if you have way more of either abundant living or nature PWPs and not enough of the other, you won't get the rating.
