how difficult was it? how long did it take? did you use fertilizer? i just simply bought some from this website, but i am pretty curious about how it was to grow them.

I had a few... before I stopped playing for a while (which I now regret not having the beautiful town).

I grew them without fertilizer, and it took a while to eventually grow a few. At times it was rather frustrating not seeing the flowers create the hybrids I needed for the next part.

It took me ages to grow blue roses by myself. I remember using a ton of fertilizer.

I spent a lot of time on it, trying to get hybrid red roses first and using fertilizer, but it never worked for me. I only managed to get some when I got 1 from someone else, I put the blue rose with the red hybrids and got plenty after that.

I spent ages trying to grow blue roses, it took a lot of fertiliser and patience. I also used a Jacob's ladder and a golden watering can, although I don't know if that made any difference. My first one grew really easily, but trying to get the second one was a total pain. Still, once I had two, they produced more really quickly.

I was wondering this today my self! I'm trying to grow some of my own and it is taking forever!

I honestly don't remember if I have been able to do it on own before, but I somehow accidentally get purple roses more often.

It grew on the third day of watering it then grew really fast since then. I've had almost one new blue rose everyday since the third one grew :)

It took me about two months with fertilizer used here and there. It really helps if none of your other flowers are next to each other in a way that they could breed.

I only recently got mine. Over a year? Maybe I'm unlucky. But they're pretty rare. Stay determined

It took about 6 weeks after I started really trying to get them.
I followed the YouTube Forbidden Blue Rose video. He set his orange and purple rose different than the diagonal method.

Picked spots that I noticed hybrids were growing on their own before. My main town has two good hybrid spots on the beach.
My other town the hybrids love to grow next to city hall.

Yes I did use fertilizer and only water the orange and purple rose. Move any red roses that appeared in the opened spots. I call those Maybe Red Hybrid Roses because you never know if the game or the villager planted a regular or hybrid red rose.

Found my first one 6 weeks in and picked it up to show my friend in another town. I forgot where I found it and think I placed it in a different spot. It took another week to get the 2nd one.

They grew like weeds for awhile but than slowed down. To fix this I picked up 3 and placed them on the other beach. Got one in each patch. So I made 4 sets of 3 and the next day I got more blue rose. I have enough to fill 3 towns.

I managed to breed blue roses after months of experimenting and trial and error.

First, I spawned purple and orange roses. Once I had enough of those, I removed some and laid them down into checkerboard patterns. When hybrid reds started to spawn, I removed those and placed them near my house. After countless amounts of pink, black, orange and purple roses, I finally got a blue rose. I kept it where it was and I got another blue rose the next day. They spawned like weeds after that.

In conclusion, the best way to insure hybrid reds is to use purple roses spawned from purple roses and orange roses spawned from orange roses.

I just grew a few hybrid reds this morning by placing a bunch of orange and purple roses in a line by the beach, so I'm hopeful that within the next few days I will finally grow a blue rose! I'm debating putting the reds diagonal or in a straight line. I seem to have more luck with them being in a line for some reason.

"Maybe Hybrid Red" - that was my problem the first time. The first time I was trying for my first blue rose I thought I had hybrid reds but when they weren't breeding anything I became convinced they were planted by villagers.

The first attempt at hybrid reds were on land. Villagers kept planting random flowers.
I then moved to the beach. That sped up the process considerably!

If you have a pirate / private beach that's even better. Create the hybrid red roses, then move those to an area on land if you want.

I think the hardest part is growing 100% certain hybrid reds. Then the blue roses will come in time.

I did plant mine on the beach but think most of the reds were regular ones. The more time you spend on the beach the more villagers show up. The night before I got my first blue rose 3 villagers were on the beach planting flowers while I fished. I watched them drop red flowers in the openings of the orange/purple. Took away about 2 pockets full of planted flowers. The next day I found my first blue rose.

It took a while, I let som normal roses together more like more than a month and I got one. I feel proud XD

Took two months to grow one by myself, without time travelling.
To be honest, I can't be bothered to waste another two months growing one.
So I'd rather trade with others on this forum.
Others like to time travel to get more blue roses.
