I recently restarted my island and decided to TT back in time to play some previous events like previous year’s Bunny Day but I can’t seem to trigger them. The cherry blossom trees are there but Zipper and the eggs on trees are missing. I thought they weren’t locked anymore since the 2.0 update so now I’m wondering if my new save game is bugged or is there something I didn’t do right?

You need to have Resident Services Building built in order to start doing the events.

I don't think you can do events that occurred before your island existed. Similar to the Kapp'n boat tours, where you can't get the "special" seasonal islands until you experience them - the game remembers your start date and knows what you "should/shouldn't" have experienced. Only I'm assuming with holidays that even once you do them on a date after your island was created, you still can't go back and do them again.

I believe that if you do all the birthday festivities one year, you can't TT backwards and do them again. Bc again, the game remembers lol

Do you have to wait for real time for the event to open? Is there certain things that are time locked?

It’s weird I don’t really understand what happened but I gave up on it and TT’d like two days after and the event triggered for some reason. I don’t know what triggered it either. I had three Stars way before this and also built the RS building at the time I asked this question but the event didn’t trigger and then suddenly it’s okay. I don’t even know what changed.

Maybe you went to the wrong date for the year you were in? Easter is a moveable feast and doesn't occur on the same date every year. Dates for Bunny Day:

12th April 2020
4th April 2021
17th April 2022
9th April 2023
