Paradise question

When I look at the map of homes I've done, there are dots over certain villagers spots (like a thought bubble). But when I go to the island and talk to them and check again, those dots are still there? Am I doing something wrong?

I believe it means there's more than one villager residing in that vacation spot. And there's no limit to how many villagers can be in one spot.
