Well, I just adopted Avery from someone, but he is not original. Now it began to bother me.

What do you think about original or not original villagers? Do you mind, or are you ok just with the villager?

Acquiring a villager in their original condition is optimal for me. I prefer to have everything looking new and then being able to change stuff on my own.

That said, if the only option is used, I accept it without hesitation. I like a lot of lower-tier villagers, so I can't be too picky. In the end, it's better to have a dream villager in whatever condition you can find than not to have them at all.

I prefer original too, I like having them completely new with the right shirts and their houses not a mess of random objects. I hate when their whole house has a theme and then they pick one random item and put in smack in the middle of everything.

I know! And now I don't know what to do with this unoriginal villager. Should I keep him, or should I do the 16 villagers cycle?

I don't really care because eventually their house/shirt/etc is gonna get changed anyway.

It depends on their house looks like. If it is fully of bugs or fish or pretty barren then I don't want the villager.

I once visited a dream town and a villager had just two items in their home. I would be upset to get that villager.

I'm super picky about houses/shirts/catchphrases. If a villager was fixed up with thought out furniture but not original it wouldn't bother me al all but random furniture and bug/fish everywhere are a no go lol. Sure I can refix everything but it takes a long time.

It bothers me when I go to a beautiful dream town and I see villagers with horrifying homes which happens more often then I'd like. I don't understand it when keeping them atleast semi-descent is very easy. That's just me and my issues though. X3

I would hate to get a villager with a completely messed up house. If the clothes, catchphrase, anything on the villager is not original, you can go to the town hall and complain about them. It will reset it~

I don't care if its a dreamie, but I like the original clothes so I will change that. I rarely go to their houses but if I ever got one from a trade with either nothing in its house, nothing original, or bugs and fish, I would be very upset.

It's really only catchphrases I'm bothered by. Well, also the town tune of the previous town, because I got a few of my villagers from cycling towns, so the tunes are default and boring.

I prefer original unless it's a villager I desperately want, in that case I won't give a hoot about their originality because that can be fixed.

I think this whole thing about originality started very recently. For probably about a good 1yr or so when the game first game out, people never really cared for the originality when trading, at least not everyone. But all of a sudden it became a legit thing, which I find to be intriguing yet puzzling. I know some people take it very seriously, so for trading purpose I always make known of the villager's originality when I post, but personally I'm not really bothered by it. Of course, it could be indeed a little frustrating to see a dreamie's house full of random junks, bugs, and fishes, but in the end none of that is permanent and I know it can be fixed. For me, it's like if you love a villager, you would love him/her regardless of how his/her house looks like.

I don't really care about a person's originality. If I don't like the way their house or clothes looks or I don't like their catchphrase, I don't really mind. I actually quite enjoy giving a villager new furniture, clothes and a new catchphrase. Those usually change anyway, even if they were original to start with.

I cant stand unoriginal villagera especially those who have fishes and bugs displayed in their house. Id skip them unless im really desperate to have that certain villager

I get that original is the preferred option, but its so so hard to keep them that way. Especially their outfit. Then if you try to change it back they start displaying clothing in their house, which just makes matters worse. I am at the point where, if I know I am not keeping someone, I do my best to keep their house and phrase original, but when it comes to their outfit, I throw my hands up. lol

I also prefer original..when I lost my maple I picked up a used one and put her in another town and I still would prefer getting another that was original..she goes on a lot about her old town and her clothes and home are changed..whereas the same thing happened with Diana when I first started here someone paid for fauna for me in exchange for my Diana my first trade and biggest regret. I later got her on site but original and she does not bother me the way used maple dose. I prefer dreams original due to maple who is about to be moved and I still nah that Id rather give away used maple and pay for new maple before transfer..she just irks me she isn't the same..but Diana is..both adopted one orig one not..As far as the really difficult t4-5s less picky but there are so many cycles now I say if you can get original if you don't mind of course pick one up..I am still considering trading out used maple for buying a new one when time comes just because she really is sweet and all but something is off she must e been kept a while the more unoriginal the more different..but I have found even originals non adopted in towns to be different same animal..don't know why I have commented on that before.
I started two towns that both had Tia and Bangle and it was night and day..they were just different but how can that be..don't know, possibly the sub personality theory.

well, i have my own cycling town, so all of my villagers are original, but i honestly wouldn't care if they weren't original, because i usually completely redecorate my villagers homes anyway. catchphrase and shirt can be changed too, so it's not a big deal to me.

I honestly could care less. I actually think it's sweet to hear them talk about their past town. So I wouldn't hesitate to adopt someone from another town. I want the villager to join my town. I don't care at all whether they are in an original state.
