Do you think a town looks neater if all/almost all of the paths are the same width? Or do/can they look just as neat with paths of different widths?

Also, if anyone has any good tips/guides on how to lay paths well it would be really appreciated! Thanks!

I have double wide paths and single paths... but the path type is a single... I think its turning out nice and you can come check it out if you want! its best to place it and see what it looks like in the actual setting. so many times I have thought how i want to use a path, then place it and it doesn't work out! so just experiment small time and go with your instinct

In general I feel as if most paths look good unless they expand immensely from a two-wide to 6-wide. The only thing I'd stray from are 1 wide paths because they feel too small, but that's just me.

This is a weird board for us to go to sister. When would I have ever posted here?

It can look nice with different widths, like having wider paths on your town's main streets and then smaller ones branching out. It mostly depends on the path patterns you're using and the way you're planning your paths. :)

What do you mean by laying paths well? If you're looking for a quick way to lay down the tiles, there are few methods. One of them is imagining that you'll have a 3x2 path section and standing on one of the two middle tiles, facing ahead. It's hard to explain it properly but I can try to find those guides for you.

If you're just looking on advice on how to plan your paths, everyone does it a bit differently. My advice is to pay attention to the routes you usually take when walking around your town. Can you place paths there? If you can't, would you find it easy to adjust to the paths? It's pretty pointless to lay down paths in a way that doesn't feel practical to you. Then, plan how you're going to do it because it's much less overwhelming if you do one section at a time (like starting in a specific area of your town before moving on to the next one or connecting important places first). Just make sure that they connect to each other later. If it doesn't work, you can always erase some paths and remake them. You can also take a picture of your map and plan out your paths on it.

It kind of depends on what the paths look like and your choice in placing them. If you just want paths scattered throughout the town but still neatly placed, they can either look really bad or really good. I personally feel like they look bad if they don't blend in at all or math everything else in the town..or at least blend in with the dirt/stone below them. They'd look good if they actually do blend in and match everything. What I did for my town was make one half of my town a "city" theme (coffee shop, police station, benches, etc) and kept the other half full nature with modern and old styled public projects. One reason for me doing this is because I still obviously need access to fossils, tree shaking and money rocks. So basically my town is half city, half nature. Anyways, in the city side I filled the whole area with two stones : pink and gray. The pink stones are used to make paths and connect places like the town hall and houses. The gray stones are just used to fill up the remainder of the space. The edges are what throw me off the most though, since they're not straight my paths either can't fill up the whole space and leave an annoying grass patch, or they overlap the cliff and run over. What I'm trying to do to get rid of this problem is just remove the paths that overlap the cliff and place flowers along the side. To make the town neater and more organized, I planted a specific row of each fruit (perfect peaches in row 1, apples in row 2, etc)

Sorry, most of this is probably useless information, haha..but I'm just throwing in extra tips on making your town look "neater"
