Only 8 villagers...

I've only had8 villagers for months and no one in my campsite. What gives??

I guess the good thing is, I can build PWPs. Lol.

That can't be possible. The game will always give you at least 9 people no matter what unless it glitched or something.

Have you obtained access to the island? Things pertinent to moveins and outs are wonky until that happens.

Yep. Been playing since last year and no move ins or move outs. I have been stuck at 8 for awhile now, since at least before Christmas.

I think I've had 1 move out/in since I started playing in the summer and the move ins have all been from the campsite.

villagers can't move in naturally until you get through all the tutorial dialogue. i'm assuming you somehow didn't do that for four months??

This happened to me for the longest time! Villagers would move in and out but I would only ever have 8. I thought 8 was the maximum you could have until recently because of this. You are not alone lol!

You can only have 8 villagers for 6 days before you get a 100% guaranteed move in on the 7th day.

And I don't think you can have less then 8 so it's not possible for you to be constantly moving someone in and out unless they are always moving out on the day someone moves in.

Your game must be glitched? That literally doesn't happen. o.o If it doesn't bother you I say just keep playing.

Maybe you're really playing Wild World, because you can have up to 8 villagers in that.

Ive been down to 7 before but never less than 10 for a week. I get streetpass every day be it from college or down town and im always getting move ins soon after one moves out

I've gotten down to 6, or maybe it was 7, in my cycling town. It was so weird people would be voided or adopted and nobody new would move in, just pack up and leave?? It was like that for almost 2wks .___.)

The good thing about the glitch though was that I was able to plot reset for multiple villagers when the game finally decided to push new personalities on me Stitches & Freya ♡

It's been like this for months like I said. There were a few gaps where I didn't play for awhile but I did everything that needs to be done. I just really don't get it.
I like the excitement of a new villager but it's no huge deal I guess.
I did have 9 at one point but someone moved out and no one has moved on since.

Have you been stuck on the same day or time and not going forward, by five days or four tents start popping by six if you look with an alt there should be plotters somewhere...Did you try jumping ahead with a new character no save and checking everywhere seven days after last move date? Or after last date saved after someone moved would be six guaranteed...I haven't heard of this do you have perfect town?
