One fish type tourneys

They aren't the best to obtain fish furniture. I think they are also designed to favor the other villagers.

I've trying to catch a big crucian carp and keep failing horribly and in the meanwhile leader of the pack keeps getting a bigger score each time.

All-type fish tourneys are too easy, though. You can just go to the island, catch a humongous shark, and not have to try for the rest of the day. I think one-type fish tourneys are best.

You can get the furniture on the all-fish types, since it's easier, and just play the contest for fun when it's one fish type. I wouldn't worry about it, you'll have other tourneys.

I have a fish tourney today actually and it's for carps. Julian held the record for awhile. Even though I was managing to catch quite a few carps, I couldn't seem to get one big enough to be the new record. I finally did. I just have to hope I'll still be the victor when it comes time for judging

Same here for the Carps. Im in the lead at the moment but we shall see if one of my villagers grabs the top spot

My main town has crucian carps today, while my secondary town has the black bass.

I actually managed to catch four carps within the first half an hour of the tourney; recorded which was which, and started with the smallest. Lolly had already beaten that, but my other three beat hers (and each other). I haven't checked for a couple of hours, but I was in the lead last I checked and had managed to get two pieces of fish furniture as well.
After reading what other people are posting here, I have a feeling I'm not going to get more than those two pieces...and that I'm lucky I even got them. XD

And I just won the gold trophy in my tournament today! (yay! -^_^-) Second place was Julian and 3rd Place was Ruby. Good luck to everyone else who is still competing!

I got first place, caught a nice big Crucian Carp at like 5:45pm! Stupid Hopper caught a 9.10inch one, but I booted him off the top spot with a glorious 9.60inch. HA!

I can't seem to catch a black bass at ALL in my second town; all I keep catching are carps. The one time you WANT to see those bass...

I think I'm done with the tourney in my first town; I don't think I can get a carp bigger than 9.25 inches; I've caught another three of them, but aside for one which was a little over 7 inches, they've mostly been in the 6 inch range. I'll see how it goes soon enough.

I had one the other day (I TT) that was only sea bass. So, I decided the island would be the best place to catch a few big ones so I didn't have to walk up and down my beaches. Nope. I caught literally every rare fish EXCEPT sea bass. I think I had two in thirty minutes. Molly won anyway...

the one in my first town is black bass. wish it was carp, it'd be a lot easier haha. i still have to play in my second town and see how well i can do there. maybe it'll be an easier fish..or an all type for easy winning

Mine was for carp like a lot of others who have posted already. I dont really much care for the one type only, but I also dont participate much so I cant really complain either.

My tourney today was all about black basses so I feel your pain there. Diana was always on top with her black bass, even after about 10 tries of trying to catch a bigger one. I kind of gave up after that...

I didn't really bother with the fishing tourney this month because my grass is in terrible shape and don't want to ruin it more than I already have. XD The Sea Bass / Horse Mackerel contests are pretty fun, though not that great for furniture.

I was in the lead at 555pm. Went into the tent and Big Top was in first place with a fish that was .25 bigger.

Happy that I finally got silver to added to my collection.
