How long before a villager decides they'll move out?

When I started the town, Rocket decided to build his house RIGHT where I intended to build The Roost. Well, my first villager moved out recently and now she's been replaced. But since the Bug Off was today, I couldn't invite any amiibo villagers to move in.

However, I'm planning to invite either Ganon or Viche tomorrow. It's dependent upon whether or not I can order some catalog items from them and still invite them the same day. But if a villager is planning to move within a week, will I still be able to kick Rocket out of town to build the Roost? (After he's gone, I'd immediately go to Town Hall to place the donation gyroid)

Basically, I'm trying to make sure that I can throw Rocket out without worrying about losing the spot where I want to place The Roost. It's the PERFECT spot. It's near the waterfall where you find Char when fishing.

Normally, the most recent villager to move out doesn’t ping to move out so probably not until a few others have cycled in/out. If you have amiibos you can instantly kick her but I’d advise plot resetting to make sure the amiibo doesn’t replace the plot of Rockets house.
Don’t forget she will be hard to move out naturally if you completely ignore her

Yes, you can evict Rocket with an amiibo card or figure.

You will need to plot reset though, as the amiibo will move in the next morning, and can move anywhere.

They tend to favor the plot where the villager you booted out was living, but not always.

Ah awesome. I shall look into that. Follow up question I scanned Ganon into the game: Is there another Zelda Amiibo villager with Ganondorf Boots or is the top/pants/wig all there is? Same question for the Classic Link outfit (are there matching pants and boots).
