OMG! Why is the campsite so tedious 😭

The developers possibly prefer us to meet and explore other villagers rather than going for specific ones we like. I am sure they learned a lot from the previous games they released. Secondly, they needed to "slow" things down because we love to do everything fast. I noticed that some players here already completed the Halloween event on the day of release. For other things, you raised valid points about improving the game's quality of life such as crafting in bulk, etc.

The mini game is a different story. Whoever decided to go with that design choice needs some spanking.
Yeah it makes sense that they'd want us to meet new villagers. The thing is even if you wanted to invite villagers you would have never thought to have, it could still take hours to get them at the campsite! I never wanted to get Lolly as a villager before but because she was there I thought I could change up who I had on my island. And I almost feel punished for doing that LOL.

Also Nintendo needs to understand there's a difference between slow and obnoxious.... The first encourages patience and the latter just makes them look sadistic 😆

Then it would make more sense to make it easier to invite them and just keep the random move out choice. But as it is now, the game actively discourages you from exploring any villager at all when they decline your offer 95% of the time and the rest is up to RNG.

There are other ways to get villagers besides the campsite method though. (Outside of Amiibo, all other methods are also random.) I am still questioning Nintendo's design choice for that mini game really. So, you're not wrong. My only guess is that they are leaving everything to "fate." (That means, we can't discount the fact that they are somewhat discouraging you. Because fate doesn't allow it.)

I’m about to go through this again. Olivia is at my campsite, and I need her to replace Vivian. She’s a dreamie of mine, so at least I’m motivated to try to get her to move in. I don’t want Vivian to move out yet, but I also don’t want to have 3 snooty villagers. Willow just moved in last month and I don’t have her photo so she can’t leave.

I was talking just about the campsite. The problem with randomness isn't what vllager moves in, but whether you can get them to move in. The miles islands do a way better job at the "here's a new villager to consider" thing, and it's only tedious if you make it so by hunting for someone specific.

I agree with this 100%. The only other time when Mystery Islands aggravate me is when I run in the same villager on back-to-back islands. 😆 It's like I never left the previous island!

god i feel this. other than the mandatory first one, i’ve only ever invited one camper and that was audie, who thankfully didn’t give me any trouble. however, i tried to invite pate last month as i thought she was really cute and oh my god??? it was a literal nightmare and i gave up after like,, half an hour because god. i honestly really hope that none of my dreamies ever show up in my campsite because i just,, don’t think i could handle that lmao

As tedious as the amiibo's may be, I thank Darth for them.

I know who I want, and I'll not be pushed into getting to know other villagers.

I have a fifteen year bond with some of my villagers, and that ain't going to change.

I completely agree, it takes faaar to long to invite someone. the most annoying part is when you actually get to the game dialogue and you get it wrong so you have to go through the whole process of talking to them over and over again.
I rarely find a villager I want through campsites, i'm 100x more successful with mystery islands, but if i'm really determined to i'll play the game however many times I need to aha

Likewise, same here. There's no other villager that can replace my dear Felicity!

I understand nintendo don't want to make it so simple to replace villagers and keep a little bit of the original randomness but you are so right this could be better.

I don't see why they don't make it more like scanning an amiibo. So when you get a random campsite villager they ask you to do a task, like make them a certain item.....If you make it they say "I had such a good time here I'd love to come back tomorrow". Then on the third day they move in. Or have them request say three tasks on that same day, but that all of the tasks are achievable.

It's still a bit of work but far less random and you have a guaranteed reward with a bit of effort.

Makes me glad I have never used the campsite!! Really, though, I didn't want to risk accidentally kicking out a fave villager.

The other week I had Cheri in my campsite who was potentially someone I'd want so I tried to move her in. I think I tried for like 4-5 hours before giving up because of the card games and I every time I won, she selected someone other than Bertha who I tried kicking out. It's funny since they will actually ask you "Do you know if anyone is moving out? Have you heard anything" which makes you think you have control, so when you hit yes, they're like "I bet its [VILLAGER]." First of all, they're a camper and I'm sure they haven't met anyone long enough to know if someone is moving, so it doesn't quite make sense to me to have the dialogue this way.

I can really understand your pain... I had Daisy in my campsite not long ago, and she was someone I really wanted. It took me around half an hour to win the stupid card game so that she would agree to move to my island. I think you just need to have patience for it 😂 Luckily, I didn't have any issues with her booting out the wrong villager. She chose Marina first time, which was who I wanted to kick out.

I can see why Nintendo didn't want to make it too simple to move someone in though. It's kinda nice to have a bit of a challenge, even though it can be extremely tedious. I can't see them changing the way the campsite works. I don't know if this or villager hunting is more painful. 😂

I don't know if there was a change, but for a few months after the game came out I found it easier to win the games and them actually agreeing. I have noticed lately it is harder for some reason. Maybe I had a fluke of luck before.
Edit
I just hope amiibos will get easy to get soon....
