OMG! Why is the campsite so tedious 😭

Soooo instead of going to sleep I went back to Lolly and finally got her to move in and replace Norma who I didn't care for. So this had a happy ending 😆 It was a bit hilarious because she said that Norma had been planning to move away even though resident services apparently never mentioned that to her the first 2 times she asked them about moving in. Also Norma only moved in 2 days ago 😂

Also @NicksFixed I get where you're coming from, it shouldn't be too easy to move them in. But really I think going at it for 6 hours is ridiculous! I hope they make it a little easier while still being somewhat of a challenge. Tweaking the RNG to be less capable of disaster would be a good idea.

Ahhh omg I just went through this trying to get Dom to move in. It was way more complicated than it needed to be. It took me around 30 minutes to finally win the game AND get him to agree to move in. I agree with the poster who said the developers did this just to make sure the process wasn't too easy.

It took so long for my Audie to move in. They should tweak the move in mechanic because it can get so ridiculous if you really want that villager to move in. 😢

On my first game, it took Merry 7 hours to pick the right villager to kick out. I was very angry and frustrated by the end but I persevered. To add insult to injury she picked Raymond and Ankha almost 10 times each before picking who I wanted.

Noooo 😵😵😵 That's horrific, I'm glad you got her in the end!

campsite is absolutely broken. doesn't help that they always repeat the same 3 lines of dialog instead of actually wanting to move in.

of course you can always try amiibo cards, but the system for that is hella stupid too. you have to invite them on three separate days in a row for them to actually want to move in and you also have to craft them stuff before they even talk about moving in - and they can choose literally any recipe out there, whether it takes 2 sticks to make or 10 gold nuggets, they don't care. it's even more time consuming and ridiculous.

Anyway, I'm very sorry this happened to ya :( i hope you can get lolly some other time on a mystery island or something :)

I wish there were other game options besides the stupid card game. I finally got a copy of NL and went back to play it, and the campsite was like night and day. I convinced Beau to move in after playing charades, and I don't think I could've gotten that wrong if I tried.

Even if they just want us to interact with different villagers every now and then, the lack of unique campsite furniture and only having the choice between 'random 50% chance' and 'random 25% chance' for a generic Nook's Cranny item isn't appealing either.

I'm glad sticking it out worked out for you, though, and you were able to get Lolly :) But I do agree the campsite is one of the features that I hope gets massively tweaked at some point. Hopefully the new amiibo packs they plan on releasing in NA encourage them to loosen up on the campsite a little.

I'm so glad that I have amiibo cards...

And ditto on that. NL campsite visitors were so easy to move in. Although the amount of times I got a campsite visitor in NL I could probably count on one hand.

Nintendo are sadistic.

Never have I felt so hated as I do by the creators/devs of AC.

The campsite is very annoying.

I have amiibos so never bothered much, but once when Maple was visiting I thought I'd invite her and see how it went. I don't know how many times I played that stupid card game, but luck wasn't on my side, and after a while I decided forget it... I'll amiibo her in and save myself some time and frustration. I also don't understand why you can't choose who gets replaced.

I'm surprised more people haven't complained about it.

I got Raymond once in my campsite but after playing all the games which took forever he finally asks to live on my island but he asks to kick out buck which is a big no no as buck is my day one and one of my new favourites so I just got annoyed and gave up. I wish you could pick who leaves the island cause every time someone at the campsite asks to live here it’s always someone I like who gets asked to get out :(

I had a similar situation with Lopez. He showed up one day on my campsite and I was so happy about it, as I was just about to go kicking someone out and going island hopping afterwards. I spent over two hours in his stupid tent, lost almost every single time his silly card game and once I won, he picked of course someone I wanted to keep. By the end of the day, he actually offered to move in without the card game this time and luckily, he picked someone who wasn't so important for me. The campsite sure is sometimes painfully annoying when it comes to invite a villager. Then again, you don't need to spend any IGB or NMT to go buy/find said villager, so that's a good thing after all.

Ugh, yes. It can be very annoying and I understand what you mean. On my previous file before I reset my switch and games, I was trying to get Cookie to move in and replace my one peppy villager, but she just kept asking for the wrong person to move out. Twice, she said on one of my favorite villagers and I'm like "no way". Plus, the games you have to play are sooo random, so the chances of winning can be so frustrating.

I completely agree! The campsite is *incredibly* annoying to move in a villager due to the RNG of... everything. There really needs to be at the least a better way for them to select a random villager to move out rather than RNG in that aspect too. Whenever I see a villager I actually want in the campsite I usually just turn on a long youtube video or movie and grind it out. I avoid playing their game unless it's for a chance to actually move in, rather than win an item. That saves a decent amount of time, but it still takes literally forever.

Anyone else liked the game better in NL and that there were exclusive items we could get only from the campers? Now, I have no reason to play the game except to get them to move in. I miss earning tons of bells from the lazies and the items (which are orderable now; i wish there was a new set to farm from campers).

I agree but at least you can reset to change who they pick (or to try the game again).

Judy was the only one I moved in from my campsite and the first one she picked was Raymond. Took me awhile for me to get her to accept my invitation and to get her to pick a villager that was temporary. The second time she picked Punchy :(

I just did this the other day with Savannah. It took two hours for her to ask to replace Freya.
I used the turbo button on my controller to make it go faster. It still took forever.

Just buy Lolly's Amiibo. It will save you from this unneeded suffering.

LOL I als hate the campsite mechanics in this game. I honestly think it's pretty useless compared to NL. Back in NL when I had terrible internet, the only way I could get my dreamies was through the campsite, and there was a resetting technique you could do to change the campsite villager for the day. And you could get campsite villagers way more often in NL; in NH it was stuck at once every at least 6 days and I thought that sucked. You also had to do a lot of tedious things to ask them to move in (Felicitiy was a campsite villager that took me almost 3 hours to ask to move in and kick the right villager).

Tldr, the NH campsite was absolutely downgraded for me compared to NL. At the very least I wish they would allow you to choose who to kick out, instead of it being random.

They should definitely let you choose who to kick out. The whole games thing is slow enough, I don't know why they had to make it even slower. I think they could improve the whole thing by the camper having you do something interesting for them instead of just standing there pressing the same button, like a little crafting quest or something. Similar to the Amiibos but it won't have to take 3 days and it will only make you craft things with materials you can easily obtain. Or you can do other little things with them like bring them fruit and shells or play other kinds of games or just ask them questions about themselves or something. I just can't stand the pure RNG aspect of it as it is now.

The developers possibly prefer us to meet and explore other villagers rather than going for specific ones we like. I am sure they learned a lot from the previous games they released. Secondly, they needed to "slow" things down because we love to do everything fast. I noticed that some players here already completed the Halloween event on the day of release. For other things, you raised valid points about improving the game's quality of life such as crafting in bulk, etc.

The mini game is a different story. Whoever decided to go with that design choice needs some spanking.
