Hey friends! I'm a "grown-up"...though the big secret no one ever tells you is that no matter how old you are, you only, always, ever feel like yourself. Like when you're 5 and you see a 12-y-o and they seem really big. Then you get to age 12 and it's the 16-y-o's that seem really big. That keeps happening, at every age you ever reach. And now I'm 42 (the number fondly known as Douglas Adams' answer to the question: "What is the meaning of life?"), thinking, "how did I get here?" and looking at my 73-y-o mum and thinking..."She seems really big." Meanwhile, she acts like she's 12 'cos she's just being herself.
I'm a bit like a nervous squirrel and don't visit folks that often, but at least wanted to say hiiiiii to all the fine
people, no matter what age you are!
Hi Voluptua! You are so right. The outside ages, and yes... the inside too.. but the constant "self" is indeed constant. The years go by, and I still don't see myself as that old, yet I am, and then again, I'm really not. Time is relative, and most everything is relative. Yet the inner self does retain a constant of sorts.
I won't re-read that last paragraph because it is deep... almost too deep... and there is a fear that I might find that I've fallen in.... without any certainty that there will be someone there to pull me out. I'd need someone younger than I for that... maybe. (grin)
You have a young heart. It seems kind and willing to offer friendship. That is unique, and aging with the times. Rare is probably a better word.
That's one thing I've found here in this particular 'Older Players' forum... rare individuals who just want to have fun in Animal Crossings, and most likely, everywhere else they are in life.
I'd be honored if you'd add my Friend Code... and honored even more if you visited Lululand. There's a particular spot at night that's calming and relaxing... and it's close to the train station entrance.
Upon entering Lululand, simply walk forward until you can't any more due to a rock in the pathway. Then, tap the screen-up button to view higher into the sky... and see the flowing fountain and the sparkling flowers offset by the wonderful moon and stars. The Train Station itself is relaxing, forming a fairytale backdrop into a time long past... and close to the future that will yet be.
It's Lululand... an E ticket ride into a place where everything that matters matters, and everything that doesn't, doesn't.
There are probably few left that will remember what that last sentence represents, and where it came from.
