Question...
If a villager leaves, does their house disappear too?
There's one villager whose house is directly in front of mine and blocking my view. I'd like that area freed up, and even a public works fountain in its place.
Is this feasible?

Yep when a village leaves their house disappears also
you can speed up the process of them leaving by completely ignoring the villager you want to leave, don't talk to them at all! even if they ping you then they should move out in about 2 weeks. Hope this helps Vyxi
Yea, I second the don't talk to them motion. You might have a weak moment and and feel bad for them and ask them to stay. Been there, done that, lol. Once they move out you'll see the imprint of where their house used to be, but the grass will come back over a short amount of time.

Wow... Interesting video.
I had the person I wanted to move out tell me they were leaving. This was before I wanted them to take the long walk on the short pier. Ironically, I had been talking to them and fulfilling their (almost) every desire... and they up and wanted to leave. I told them to stay at the time, feeling my self-concept threatened by a villager even desiring to leave... So now I'm not certain if they'll ever mention leaving again.
Since then, 2 other villagers stated they were leaving. Since I did everything for them and talked to them on a daily basis, I'm not certain that curtailing communication with them is the ticket for them to leave. Actually, my experience has been the complete opposite.
If I were to make an educated assumption (is there such a thing?), I'd say that the entire process is completely random... And that the coding of the Game isn't this huge AI that takes all those variables into consideration... As the video suggests.
I can also be completely and utterly wrong. My self-concept, body image, and pride can swallow this fact... Admitting that I have absolutely no certainty whatsoever in the validity of the above.
Thank's everyone for the info... I'll indeed do the following to "Muffy":
1. Finally put that toy hammer many of you have seen me carrying to good use.
2. Be completely silent during the attack
That outta kill two birds with one stone... Eh? Hehehe
