Oh no not again...

Well what I do is start a game, love my town, and then look at other people's town layouts and names and begin to feel jealous. That's basically it, so I start to feel not satisfied with my town and I reset. Then the process repeats. It's a nasty habit.

you've basically just described who i am.

I don't think I'd ever reset. I love my villagers (well, most of them anyway) and I'm not going to wait 2 months to get my eye color changed!
Ultimately, I think it's really up to you though.

I get envious of how other peoples towns are, but I wouldn't dare reset. I'll just work with what I have and make mine beautiful too. You can't expect to magically have the greatest most perfect town without working for it. You'll just set yourself up for disappointment each time :(

Yep, you're right :/ That's why it's a nasty habit, like I said.

But on the bright side, I now have Meryton! :) Time to start the one year challenge!

I have a serious resetting bug!

I made Azalea and was really truly happy with it! I've unlocked all the shops on main street except Katrina, I have good villagers, everything's good. But I want to reset.

I only just started landscaping, so I wouldn't be losing loads of flowers or anything. I don't really like my town name and the layout which I once loved...well. It's a lot of empty space which I first thought was great but after exploring other towns I feel like it has no character.

My friend just got Animal Crossing so I'd be behind her again, and in a teeny tiny way that could irk me. Maybe it wouldn't.

Oh god I don't know what to do, I'm a serial resetter! I've done this over and over before. What do I do?

You have the same town as me! ^-^ My first town was Azalea, and now I have another copy of the game with Twinleaf c: But yeah, I'm not really contributing to the discussion. XD

Man, majnin you and i both having a resetting habit. Mine is probably a result of loosing my original save progress like 3 months ago.I was really far into the game and had almost a complete catalog when my SD card died so my digital copy was gone with it.I have reset so many times now that i cant even tell you honestly how many time I've been into a save and deleted it cause I didn't like my layout or town name.In fact I want to reset the Town I currently have...I guess i just cant get over my first town...*sigh* I miss my old town.:(

You aren't the only one, I've reset about 7 times since October and am thinking of resetting again. I've only had the current town for 12 days.

I've never reset my town from the first day ACNL came out. Even if your layout has empty space and such, over time you figure out what do with it.

Yeah, honestly if you've reset already just find a map you like and work with it. Shape it into what you want it to be. I've got a town, and even though I'm not crazy about the town hall color or the train station color...I'm going with it and making things work with it.

sometimes i seriously wish i had never started visiting dream towns or looked at any ac:nl-related tumblrs. i was really happy with my town until i started comparing my own town to other towns. it sucks because i love my villagers, the map (in hindsight, i would've placed my house in a different spot but it's not really a big deal to me - the spot i wanted was taken anyway), the progress i've made but ugh... yeah, i definitely know how you feel.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one c:

The thing is, I was happy with Azalea's layout but then half of the town just felt empty. I tried putting PWPs but it was just too boring. I put paths and it was difficult because the space was so wide. With Meryton, I took the advice of someone on here and I put my hand over the first map so I couldn't see it and clicked confirm and luckily I love it! It's my first vertical river so fingers crossed for this one :S

Ever since I saw Japanese towns, I was shot down. But I continued to love my town if the villagers didn't keep huddling in one area >w> oh well.
