I have a serious resetting bug!

I made Azalea and was really truly happy with it! I've unlocked all the shops on main street except Katrina, I have good villagers, everything's good. But I want to reset.

I only just started landscaping, so I wouldn't be losing loads of flowers or anything. I don't really like my town name and the layout which I once loved...well. It's a lot of empty space which I first thought was great but after exploring other towns I feel like it has no character.

My friend just got Animal Crossing so I'd be behind her again, and in a teeny tiny way that could irk me. Maybe it wouldn't.

Oh god I don't know what to do, I'm a serial resetter! I've done this over and over before. What do I do?

You have great villagers! Just get people to hold villagers you want to keep, if you're going to reset. I personally think resetting is good, it's a fresh start.
I really hope you're going to give Bob away xD

You can reset and do a 365 challenge, that's what's working for me.

What's a 365 challenge? :O

I've never TTd to get villagers to move, so I have no idea how to do that D: But if I can figure it out, I'll definitely do giveaways or raffles or whatever. I can't let my beautiful villagers go to the void!

That is, if I decide to reset

I think I'm doing something slightly similar if not the same as the 365 challenge. Basically, I (used) to reset all of the time. I used to find everything wrong with my town, reset, spend ages resetting for a layout, like it for a few days then reset again. I got so annoyed at this that the next time I turned on my 3DS to choose a layout I just chose the first layout without looking at any of the others to tempt me. I plan to stay with this layout for a year, with no time travelling, no resetting for villagers etc. When I feel like resetting I just remember this goal that I've set myself. My town layout isn't perfect but I'm actually having quite a lot of fun with it, thinking up how I can make it look exactly how I want to. I've also been very lucky with my villagers.

It's fun, and it removes the temptation to reset(at least for me anyway).

I think this is somewhat similar to what Toeto is referring to, maybe a bit different.

This. I'm doing the 365 challenge and haven't thought about resetting once. I guess it keeps you going in the game and you don't do too much at once.

This 365 challenge seems really good, and the perfect thing for me to do.

Now to think of a town name...

You just carefully tt day at a time to get them out.

I was meant to be selling Marina after getting her from the campsite for like 16 mil but I wanted to reset so much that I just reset. I'm too impatient.

I recommend the 1 year challenge. It's working for me. I reset 5 or 6 times since I got the game on June 18th. The challenge makes it so fun - join us! :D

I would love to! It seems super fun. I'm thinking about calling my town Meryton now.

Don't do it!
im a serial resetter have been since wild world.. yet with Azalea my new leaf town since July, i keep preventing myself, theres far too many shops and pwps projects to unlock and build again which i possibly couldnt lose and my villagers
You might end up regretting it and being trapped in that cycle of resetting again

The first year challenge has worked for a lot of people
btw on the challenge are you allowed to reset for plots or is it a complete natural save :p?

Not allowed to plot reset

Rule #2 : You cannot and will not reset for villager’s house placement spots.

Why would you keep resetting? You'll get nowhere with the game if you do it constantly.

Well what I do is start a game, love my town, and then look at other people's town layouts and names and begin to feel jealous. That's basically it, so I start to feel not satisfied with my town and I reset. Then the process repeats. It's a nasty habit.
