I'm TTing a little to get my other characters to fill up their encyclopedias and I was looking for a House Centipede in September. I didn't find one so I did the save and continue trick and when the screen loaded up again, there was a scorpion the square between me and the rock. O__O HELL NO. I screamed and made my character walk away. I know I had to catch the damn thing but I was so startled that I could do it. It's a good thing I didn't have my net out.

Anything freaky like that happen to anyone?

I don't know why anyone would be freaked out by a scorpion. The worse thing it's going to do is send you back to your house and you can get back to where you were in about a minute. The only reason I'm "afraid" of a scorpion is that if I take out my net too soon, I won't be able to catch it before it gets my character.

lmao this. They don't even hurt you at all. Bees just make you look wonky for a few days and that's it.

They're just creepy and I don't like bugs in general. The sounds they make when they move also freak me out rofl. Catching the tarantula and the scorpion gave me the most anxiety every in this game rofl

I wouldn't say they give me anxiety to catch. I would say that they are just really annoying to find and catch mainly because they don't spawn very often and they are actually more likely to run away than bite / sting me. It is kind of stressful seeing one though because I know that if I fail to catch it, it may be a while before I find another.

I always jump when I'm running around, minding my own bussiness, and a scorpion or tarantula runs over and bites me.

They were a lot faster and scarier in the wild world version. I would make a little squeeling sound when they attacked me.lol. I remember them hissing at me too. Do they do that in new Leaf ? I caught a few a while back, and I didn't hear any hissing.

I wish they hadn't mellowed them out and it would have been cool if they had added another spider or bug to attack you. Like maybe a huge jumping spider that jumps on your face.lol.

I know the scorpion will hiss at you when you creep up too close. The tail goes up, I remember. But I think that's a good thing because it won't move if it's focused on you.

To be honest, the scorpion and tarantula kind of freak me out, too.

Large, dangerous bugs, in my peaceful New Leaf town... no thank you.

They're difficult to catch, and I always get ambushed by them - I'll be looking for oak silk moths, and then a scorpion will jump out, but me, and knock me out. It's pretty frustrating.

I don't like bugs IRL either, especially spiders, so I'm not fond of having them in my "safe space" of ACNL.
