Obtaining dreamies

It's almost impossible. If they're low tier, no one bothers to raffle/auction them because they assume no one wants them. If they're high tier, people sell them off for millions of bells, much more money than I could spend on a single villager.

Does anyone else think that the tier system is silly and needs to be reformatted?

I completely agree with this. Some of the tier 1's should be replaced with tier 4's or 5's.

I believe Bluebear should be number 1 in tier 1.

If they're low tier people usually have giveaways for them first before voiding them out but I agree that the top tier are really overpriced most of the time

I also can't fathom why some reeeeeeaaaaaalllyyyyyy cute villagers like Graham, Nan, Kidd, Shep, Muffy and others get very little to no love.

That's why I've created this discussion. It can't be impossible to create a system where villagers aren't sold based on their popularity.

I got 8/10 of my favorite villagers in my own game without even trying (well I didn't rly want Bob and Marshal but they'll probably be here forever anyway lol) so I don't think getting villagers is actually all that hard if you're patient, although I see your meaning. I'm not much of a fan of the tier system either. p:

Rejecting preference for having the most "popular". I do agree it's not exactly fair. Some people do cycle for low tiers because they know players can have preferences. I'll go even further: this tier system is broken.

higher tier vilagers are sold for more because more people want it, so therefore people become willing to pay more (trying to outbuy each other), which in turn drives up prices

lower tier villagers go for less because not as many people want, therefore less competition which makes it easier to get



this is like the most basic you can get

every auction (which is what villager purchases usually are in the form of, to give more people chances to get) in the history of anything ever pretty much runs like this

Supply and demand. Only the system can revamp itself. No single entity or person can. The top tier villagers are top tier because it's what people like the most. What are you going to do about it exactly?

Asking to change the tier system is asking people to change their dreamies. You can't do that. e.e Cycling threads have low and high tier villagers, you just have to get lucky. If all else fails, you can always campsite reset.

Thanks to TBT and ACC I was able to get all 10 of my dog villagers in just 5 days, and most of them are low tier. Also, all but one of them were FREE! It just takes some vigilance - watch those cycling threads closely!

When I created Namek I started with Rory, Pekoe, Soleil, Deli, and Puddles.
Through Plot resetting I got: Rocco, Shari, Tammi, and Lionel (Originally planned on Julian, because I love MLP, but decided I wanted the town to be more of a 'refuge' for poor, unloved villagers.)
While camp resetting I came across almost every tier one villager (Only ones I did NOT see were any octopi, Julian, Ankha, and Whitney, and Beau) I came across Chester and decided to take him in since behind Lions, Pandas are my 2nd favorite animal (Hippos are 3rd, Platypus is 4th, and Octopus is 5th).

That just leaves 1 more to obtain, and I didn't have to move ANYONE out to get up to 9 dreamies! I have to move out Puddles so I can get Bertha (because I love her design and want a second Hippo!) So yeah. This is a town full of widely hated villagers. That was fully INTENTIONAL!

In addition about 2 weeks ago I got one of the least popular villagers in my campsite, who also is a dream villager of mine. I had just moved out a terrible villager (Prince, who came in from streetpass). The villager in the campsite was none other, than Hans the Yeti! As a person who loves cryptids, it is only natural I would want the Yeti villager.

I really just think that the tier list should not even exist....not just here....I mean ANYWHERE! If I want to use Kirby in Brawl instead of Meta Knight, I will. If I want to use Sakura instead of whoever #1 is, in Super Street Fighter IV 3D, I will! Tier lists do not tell me what to do.

I think it's about watching. I've been at it a bit, I haven't found it especially difficult - I haven't been trying too hard. Just kinda look to see if a villagers name comes up, and for low tier throw them into the seeking thread because I received Jaques for free through posting there. A lot of people will check before voiding if a villager is moving out :3

Maybe I am just extremely unlucky with cycling threads. However, I did get Beau from campsite resetting, and I will be getting a free dreamy via a PMer. I will try to be more vigilant in the future.

The tier system is really silly! Obviously some villagers are generally cuter than others, but some of the top tier villagers don't make sense. I think most of the cutest villagers are mid to low tier, honestly.
