Nookazon Moderators Rant

This, this, this. Life gets in the way. If you're quick with trades, that's great. But people have lives and might be doing trades in-between work, school and chores.
Well then explain why everytime someone makes an offer to me they say that they are "online" but then there are times where they told "oh sorry I didn't set it to offline" I have to hear this like 20 times. I mean do people seriously forget to set their status to "offline" if they are not able to trade. Why is that so hard for people to understand?

The human race isn't perfect.

People have been nice and trying to help you and this is how you act? 😒
Look I already had a rough time. I am expressing my frustrations of how I felt about this. I am usually very kind but this is one of the times where I just get so fed up of wall this waiting that it really bothers me. I mean I've had friends that ghosted me so many times and I usually believe them because they are "busy with stuff" but when I have to hear it more than 5 times its like I feel like I am not wanted or anything like that. You would not like it if you was put in the same situation like I was.

As I said with an earlier post, sometimes I can be absentminded and leave the site without setting myself to “busy”. I try to give benefit of the doubt, and if worst comes to worst I’d just retract the offer due to inactivity.

It might feel rough, but you haven't lost anything.

I would just be glad of that. :)

Like everyone else has been saying, it's a website run by a volunteers! I'm always just grateful for any help at all in situations like that. It's just kind people providing a cool service to make your game experience better. They don't owe you anything. I also feel like you're being pretty mean to everyone responding to this thread, and having worked retail for years in the past I imagine that the Nookazon team isn't in a huge rush to help you.

Well expect for the time I lost Raymond's Photo. Like I mentioned before I got scammed before on this website. This happened last month where someone made an offer for 100 nmts. I go to that person's island. They told me to drop the photo then I followed them and then they kicked me out, therefore I lost the photo. Like an idiot I actually fell for a scam. I was so angry with myself for allowing this happen. That is why I am very cautious on the website and why I take my trades very seriously.

uh i don’t mean to be rude but why are you being so defensive?? nobody is attacking you but shutting down everyone’s input by saying “whatever” is a bit childish. i can understand your frustrations but you really do need to have patience; no problem can be solved in a matter of seconds. i’m not exactly sure how fast you want people to be but, like you’ve already been told, these platforms are run by fans of animal crossing who have lives outside of animal crossing and the websites surrounding it; you are likely not the only person who has filed a report today and therefore, nobody is capable of giving you a timeframe of when you’ll get a response from a moderator as they likely have other problems to settle, too, along with their personal lives. there’s no schedule for this kind of thing.

I am sorry if I came across as "mean" its just that these past couple of days with Nookazon haven't been all that great I was getting very desperate for help. Usually I get a lot of great reviews for helping out people with their trades and that is what I always wanted to do "keep people happy" but lately ever since this happen I've been having so many negative thoughts about quitting the site. Part of me is saying I should just keep going on this site because I'm helping out so many people but then other part is saying "do I have to keep doing this just to make other people happy and not worry about myself?"

@SoraFan23 are you at a good place in your game?

I only ask this because, in all seriousness, I am a very fickle person and my trades are generally fast, so yes, I understand your frustration. If I'm forced to wait around, then yeah it rubs me the wrong way...but...as the seller, you are in complete control.

If you're in a good place in your game, and don't need the business, just shut down the slow trades. If someone's taking too long, just shoot them a message saying you're moving on and thank them for their interest. I do. This way you don't have to worry about feedback repercussions.

If they kick you out, here's tip: put the game in sleep mode. Just tap the power button and put the switch to sleep, and this will interrupt the connection, so if it doesn't autosave, you'll have whatever you could've lost :)

Look, I’m sorry that you’ve been genuinely scammed before, but this scenario you’re mentioning doesn’t exactly sound like a scam. It sounds like someone who made a couple small mistakes (5k IGB isn’t a whole lot in the long run).

You're right and I apologies. It was a stupid thing to say and I wasn't being careful with my choice of words. I was just in a really sour mood because these past couple of days have been rough for me on Nookazon. But I just don't like getting "Ghosted" you know how that hurts when you want answers but its like you have to wait and wait for so long and then it gets the point where you ask yourself "Should I even keep going with this" thats why I was impatient and why I began to get desperate. I don't usually react this way but this is something that I need to work on.

Okay I'll try to do that but usually when I reject people offers for being "unresponsive" I get a 1 star review.

You have to understand what it feels like to get scammed and thats why I took it very personally.

I know what it's like to be really scammed.

In april, I won an Ebay auction for an ACNH edition switch.

I paid $700.

It turned out the item wasn't real and Ebay doesn't cover it.

Cops found the dude, he was using a fake name, and I can't take anyone to court until police have charged someone.

Six months later I still haven't got my money, and most likely never will.

It's the last thing I think of when I go to sleep, and the first thing on my mind when I wake up.

I had to fork out another $450 to buy a regular switch, and I'm by no means rich.

Again, I say, you are lucky.

You lost nothing.

I've never strayed from The Bell Tree so I'm not sure how things work on Nookazon, but if someone can give you a negative review without there being an actual transaction, then that's a problem in and of itself...

Still, I’d try to have a bit more patience with people. This sounds like a mistake that I could make by accident. Now, if I were the buyer in this situation, I wouldn’t have given a retaliatory one star review, but I would’ve given a five star review if the seller was patient with me and my mistakes.

Well the person that scammed me ended up getting removed turns out they were scamming other people too.

I’ve strayed from Nookazon for a while now, but I will say that there’s a lot that isn’t optimal there (like the whole being able to review without a transaction). My biggest problem is the inflation of items, however. For the longest time you’d have to pay at LEAST 60 NMT for a stack of pinecones.

WHUT????

I'd have given them to you for free! ^_^

Yep, eBay can be a cruel mistress. I sold a complete Clix set to someone in England via eBay. She told me she couldn't pay me until pay day but really needed the item sent out to get there in time for her boyfriends birthday. Me being a nice guy (at the time, not anymore lol), I shipped the 350.00 worth of game pieces out early. Her aforementioned pay day came and went, and I received nothing. I dropped messages asking if she would be paying anytime soon, never heard anything. eBay refused to help me because I made the rookie move of shipping it out before I received payment.

So that lesson was learned the hard way.

On a side note (I haven't had to file a complaint in a long time, so they may or may not do this anymore) this was back in the day when eBay gave you ALL the buyers contact information to resolve a dispute, so this girl got around 10-20 messages on her answering machine from me. When it got to the point where I knew I wasn't ever getting paid, I left a few extra messages for my own amusement...
