So April 8th is when Zucker moved to Tippervale and started unpacking.
Ever since then, I haven't had a single villager wanting to move out.
I talk to them all daily at least several times and always check for thought bubbles but if they have them, they're usually for other mundane things like trying to sell me something or just telling me a random story.

I so far had 2 move-out requests since launch (one from Wolfgang which was denied and the 2nd one from Rowan - whom I allowed to go).
With Rowan, I noticed that he didn't have the thought bubble initially during the day and only got it later on while I was playing so I thought that was a bit strange. I'd have thought that the villager who is thinking about moving would have the thought bubble first thing but that was not the case with Rowan (can't remember with Wolfgang).
I know that move-out mechanics worked completely differently in NL so was wondering how they work exactly in NH. From everything I had gathered, villagers can't move without our consent though.
I don't Time Travel so I'm willing to wait but is there any faster way to get villagers to leave without TT?

I suppose they meant April 8th.

Anyway, I've also gotten 2 move-out requests. One was from my forced campsite villager after ignoring him for 4 or 5 days, the other was from Drake, but it was when I time traveled a little bit to move-in both Bianca and Beau (just to speed up the process and make sure they weren't glitched) and didn't talk to him that much during the process. The rate seems to be much lower and I'm getting a bit frustrated, I'm very tempted to TT so I can start kicking people out.

Sorry, yes - I did mean April 8th.
Did you notice anything specific about the move-out mechanics - like would they have the thought bubble appear first thing when you boot the game up?
That wasn't the case with me.
I'm also wondering if ignoring them/not talking to them at all can speed things up. I know that in NL it didn't seem to make the slightest difference but I'm curious to know about this game.

If I recall correctly Curlos had the thought bubble at the beginning of the day, Drake took a while to get his. Ignoring them has worked for me, though only twice, don't know how reliable it actually is.

A lot of times I get the thought bubble right when I start the game if they want to leave.. Today I was playing for about 20 minutes before Lucky had one pop up.. I didn't think he wanted to move because I had been in the game so long, had already spoken with him and because I had recently amiibo him in.. Sure enough, he said he wanted to move... I said NO WAY as I love that goofball!

i haven't had a single dude request to move out, and i'm constantly checking them, my left controller is drifting bad that i haven't been island hopping and so see them constantly around. the two i've managed to get rid of, were due to campsite visitors, none of my dudes seem to want to leave...

You've been playing since the start?
I'm not sure if inviting villagers through the campsite somehow resets the "move-out" mechanics - that's another thing I'm worried about.

I've been playing since launch day as well, and have only had two move out requests.

My theory is that the game only lets 2-3 requests happen per month, as a lot of people who kicked villagers out via time travel often had to jump forward into the following month to get a request.

Somewhere I read that around every 2 weeks someone will request to move out, that was accurate for me so far since I'm playing since around a month and had two villagers move out in that time. My experience is that ignoring villagers doesn't help anything because the two villagers who wanted to move out both were rather close to me.

Yupp... seems this way.
Well, I'm hopeful someone will request to move out soon.

That's what I thought too.
There are always different theories floating around but it seems to me that the villager that wants to leave is totally random.

I agree, it feels completely random. The two villagers who asked to move out were ones I was giving gifts/talking to on a regular basis.

yep since day one, other than the forced camper add, only have had 2 others and not a single one ask to move out. meanwhile my hubby gets campers every few days, and he's desperate to get rid of a few... i told him at least he got campers even if none were what he liked/wanted, he could then get rid of the current annoying ones and replace them with new annoying ones lol...

I wish there was a comprehensive guide about move-out mechanics. I'm also in the camp of no TTing and only two villagers have asked (one of whom was Judy who I told 'no way' to). Even though I've been terraforming up a storm, my island feels so stagnant. I never realized until now how much of my playtime and enjoyment of the game came from doing the Miles+ tasks to get NMTs to go island hopping.

Pashmina faked me out tonight. She said "Something's really been weighing on my mind, and I know you're not going to believe me if I tell you." I couldn't mash the A button faster. "...Would you like to buy my alto saxophone?"

I've been playing since launch as well, and I've had three move-out requests so far. The third was the only one that I accepted. I'm pretty sure Olaf didn't have a thought bubble until later in the day, but I'm not sure how it was for the other two.

I don't think the campsite resets normal asks to move out because I had Pietro show up in my campsite like 2 weeks ago, kicked out Phil to move in, and then on the day between Phil leaving and Pietro moving in, Pinky asked to move. I think the campsite and normal move outs don't affect each other, but that's just from my experience

With New Horizons, it seems like the rate for requesting a move out has been drastically lowered. I read it can take 2 weeks to a month for someone to ask to move out. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be for people who don't TT.
my hubby is almost to the point of starting to TT he's so frustrated... i'm nearing it myself and neither one of us had any plans to, unless something happened like a corrupt save borking an island.
