No T&T Emporium?

So I completed all the tasks needed to get the T&T Emporium. I passed all 4 Gracie fashion checks and I spent more than 100,000 bells in the TIY shop - this was 3 months ago and I still haven't upgraded to the emporium!
Why could this be?

For Gracie's fashion checks, I admit, I did a bit of time travelling to save me some time...

I traveled back to the 8th of October and found Gracie and passed my first check. Afterwards I realized that if I time traveled back to the 7th and then to the 8th Gracie would reappear and ask for another check. I continued to do this until I passed all 4 checks and Gracie said she would open a shop soon. Problem is, I then traveled to the 9th to see if the town notification board would say anything about about the department store...nothing. TIY did not seem to be under construction or anything either...

I traveled back to the present date at the time (15th) and noticed that nothing changed as well. I became worried so time traveled back to the 8th where I met Gracie before but she wasn't there so I'm guessing I passed all of the checks? Could time traveling have caused me this problem?

I know this is all really long, but I would really appreciate it if someone helped me out! Thanks in advance!!

I'm pretty sure it's only 100,000 bells...

Did you spend the bells ordering via catalog? Bells spent on catalog doesn't count. At least that's what I read somewhere. You have to buy the items that's in stock for the day. I also checked the wiki and it says 100k at the TIY. Hmm...

I almost never use the catalog but maybe I did use it once or twice? I wish the game would keep tabs on how much you've spent on the catalog and items that are in stock -_-

Let's say that I haven't bought anything in the catalog and that I spent over 100,000 on normal stock items...could there be a reason for TIY not upgrading to the emporium? Could time traveling have messed things up?

No, time traveling didn't mess up.

It's probably a game-breaking glitch. Someone reported on GameFAQs that he couldn't get Club LOL after seven months since the petitions were signed. You could have something similar with the T&T Emporium.

I definitely had the shop for more than 30 days since it opened in August

I think I exaggerated on the game-breaking glitch part, but I don't know what is going on.
