No perfect fruit or villager pictures... is my game broken???

I started my game on July 25th of this year and have never seen a perfect pear in my town. Ever. Unless there was one in the very beginning to show me a perfect pear? My boyfriend, however, has been playing for less than a month and has had countless perfect cherries. He brings some to me when my villagers ask for fruit so I have a better chance at getting their pictures. That's the other issue. I have yet to receive even one villager picture. I've kept the same people in my town since they moved in and I would like to get new people eventually but I don't let them move out until I get their picture.

Is my game broken or something?? Why am I not getting either of these?
I shake my trees all the time with the hopes of perfect pears growing in. I've also let them sit there because my boyfriend doesn't shake his trees and randomly gets perfect cherries. I don't have the Emporium yet so I can't buy fertilizer. And I do everything for my villagers all the time. I now give them perfect cherries and golden stags and still haven't gotten any pictures... I write letters often too. I don't know what else I can do to fix this. Help! D:

There is always one perfect fruit in town when you first start your town. Since it's been so long, it's possible that a villager plonked their house on top of it or you still haven't found it.

As for your boyfriend not shaking his trees and perfect cherries randomly spawning - that's not how it works. Unless he is planting new tress, perfect fruit doesn't randomly spawn on trees that haven't been shaken.

Villager pictures can take awhile to get, even with doing all of those things.

I probably found it and ate it or something the first day because I didn't know they were that special LOL. He's probably planting new cherry trees then. So I'll continue to shake mine every time they re-fruit I guess *headdesk*

you can buy a perfect pear in re-tail section of the forums and plant it, it's probably a better idea than waiting for them to randomly show up. (i have like one i can spare if you want it??) as for pictures, i started my game in june and i only just received my first picture, i'm sure you'll start getting them soon!

As Mint said, there's always one perfect fruit when you start. Since it's been a few months, see if there's anyone on the forums who can give you a perfect pear (I would, but I have cherries instead of pears) and then use it to plant a tree, and then use the three pears to plant even more trees, etc.

Villager pictures take a really long time to get. So far I have two of them, and generally here's what I've done to get them:

-when they ask for a bug or fish, bring them a really rare variety, even if it's not what they asked for. Example, Tangy asked for something like a sea bass and I brought her a blue marlin instead.

-when they ask for fruit, bring them a perfect fruit

-always try to do their requests and never ever mess them up if you accept! Make sure you always show up when they ask you to visit/come over.

-when they ask for furniture, check out thonky.com and see what gifts are the best for each villager

-talk to them and send them long letters, usually with furniture in them

-never push them!

alright i'll add you vm/pm me when i can come over, my town is native peach so i'm afraid i only have the one but one's all you really need to get going!

edit: oh and bad news but i meant june of last year i started my game, however i turn down like all of their requests so it probably took me a lot longer to get their pictures
