No message in a bottle???

I thought I didn't get a message in a bottle yesterday, but I chalked it up to me being forgetful. But today I know I didn't just forget that I already picked it up. Has anybody else run into suddenly not getting messages in a bottle anymore? I got them every single day before, but now... nothing.

EDIT: I randomly moved my lighthouse and sure enough, it was hiding right next to that. Now I feel so dumb. So on a related note... have you ever thought that your game glitched and didn't give you something, but it just turned out that you didn't look as thoroughly as you thought you did? xD

I've tunnel visioned the bottle on a few occasions. Sometimes if your beach has a ton of items, namely shells and star fragments, they can sometimes prevent the bottle from spawning due to lack of viable spawn points. But picking up items and entering a building and exiting can spawn it.

Despite being relatively attentive to detail, I’ve missed the message bottle before when running along my shores— it kind of blends in with the blue shells.

It happens pretty much 2 or 3 times a week for me. It's not very consistent has shell and mushroom hunting. I usually try to do my gathering runs once a day and the bottles don't pop up as much.

I don’t always get them either, sometimes they just choose to not show up

My beaches are a little chaotic at the moment so if my bottles are missing it’s usually behind a placed furniture item and I ran past it without noticing. A while back I thought my island was glitched and wouldn’t give me new bottles but it turned out it was hidden right behind the pier dock in between a palm tree and some flowers. IIRC the bottles don‘t change locations unless you find it? (unless I’m really blind) So I went about a month without getting a DIY on my own island as it was just hidden there the whole time.
