No... just no, I can't believe it..

I just think we are all meant to be a community and being so negative towards someone who honestly didn't mean to do what they did doesn't help in the slightest?

Perfectly said. Warnings with tactful language would help. But most of us here want to help, so there is that. :)

Coming from someone who is typically much more "rude", I do understand that people may feel inclined to do the opposite of help in a situation where someone screws up and asks others to patch up what they did, even if accidentally. But being truthful can mean being rude. It's like saying "I told you so", it's just kicking someone who is already down. /shrug which I feel is justified due to the fact that they posted a open thread but do realize it is actually a rude thing to say.

It's said and done. This is coming from someone who is er a little notorious for being rude in another community haha.

why the hell were you playing for extended periods without charging in the first place?

especially when the system gives you quite literal flashing lights I'M ABOUT TO DIE indication when its soon to happen

Nope nvm just checked it's not the same person. My bad :P

Still two rude comments tho...

if your charger wasn't working then you probably shouldn't of been playing anyways

sorry, but its kinda all your own fault imo

Of course it is, doesn't mean you to compound the issue by being rude...

Being rude to someone just because they have a stronger opinion than you do will get us no where.

While she may have done something that could have been preventable, she's learned from the mistake and can only hope not to make it again.

I think the greater issue is that the file shouldn't have become corrupted just because the battery died! What the heck nintendo.
No, it wasn't just because the battery died. It's because the system was turned off during saving so the battery just died at a very bad time. I had the battery died on me because I fell asleep; no corruption.

"Well, now you've learned your lesson, right? Don't play when it's dying."

No, the responses in this thread have been totally condescending and rude. I always play at night time before I fall asleep, and I usually wake up in the middle of the night, see my DS still on, RED LIGHT, and quickly save before falling back to sleep.

Accidents happen. Sheesh, people.

I'll keep my eyes out for the villagers you want in my cycle town.

(((HUG))) Thank you for that! The thought really counts. :)

BTW...who are your dreamies on the bottom? I'm not knowledgeable enough yet to tell. An ostrich and one of the female wolves? I want to watch for them.

ETA - maybe you mentioned them in your first post. I'll go and check. I can't remember off hand. I must be getting old, eh? Lol!

Phoebe and Whitney c:

I may change my dreamies as I'm leaning towards a really adorable blue space themed town.

And thank you to those who are actually being supportive instead of being downright rude.

Zanessa, how many times do I have to say that I was near a charger, that is WHY I play until it flashes, but it suddenly broke.

75% of these comments are really mean and have not helped me in any way. I am fully aware it is my fault and honestly don't need it being said a million more times to make me feel worse.

Gizmodo, that's an awesome idea too c: I'll do some plot resetting c:

I'm still deciding on new dreamies but Fauna, Diana, and Marshal are definitely within them.

I cycled 16 for my Diana and am gutted to lose her again.

No one's acting like that. It's partially your fault, but it also isn't. You don't ask for a file corruption; it just happens.
And when I say partially, like, 1% of it is your fault. Make sense?

Yes, I am fully aware it is pretty much 50% of my fault. I'm not going in a huff because I can't face it is my fault, it's that I don't need it being said a million more times.

wait...didn't you say you were preparing to reset and all your items were held? why are you sad that your data was corrupted? you were about to reset anyway, right? :o

I was going to get my dreamies held but lost them all :'c

Wait, Can someone explain to me how a file can get corrupted if the battery runs out while playing? ;___;
I'm scared to corrupt my file D:

(speculation) but when you save, your data basically overwrites itself! Every action you do creates a new "town" that is unlike any before it, so it has to redo it every time referencing off former data. When the 3DS shuts down, all unsaved files are lost correct? It just gips it up and results in corruption. Most computers can't handle making a choice in that situation nor do they understand context so it simply follows protocol, which results in a bunch of messed up data.

Of course I'm totally guessing on all of this but I think it might be a fair observation considering this happens with a lot of games. It's just ACNL is very heavy, hence why the save times in all the animal crossing games tend to be long.

So basically, if I were to save my game while playing and the batteries died out and it shut off, my data would be corrupt? D': oh gosh, I need to take precautions, thank you!

Basically don't interrupt the saving process. It's rubbish that it could happen so easily, but with such severe consequences :( I'm so sorry to hear what you've had to go through Avalon :(

If for any reason your 3ds shuts off in the middle of saving, save data will be corrupted. This isn't just a 3ds thing, this happened to me a long time ago with a gamecube game...

Thank you c:

I reset today, landed a town with Whitney, Rudy, and Chrissy in it, and I am now Mayor Melody of Stardust (that kind of defeats the point of my username but whatever xD)
I am plot resetting for Marshal, Phoebe, or Fauna now.

I reset my town and I'm happy with it guys c: I have Whitney, Chrissy and Phoebe already ^u^

Glad you like your new town :) I love both your mayor's name and your town name! I have Phoebe in my cycle town and when she moves I'd be happy to give her to you :D
