No duplicates by using campsite trick?

Ok so for the past few days I have been nonstop grinding in order to get Judy in my village using the campsite trick.
From what I've noticed from my list of 136 encounters is that I haven't encountered a single duplicate villager which is very strange since whenever I island hopped I would get on average about 2 duplicates per 50 tickets.
Have you guys experienced this too or am I just insanely lucky?

Same here, never got a duplicate. Campsite method is the way to go (as long as the persons okay with TTing)

What is the campsite trick if you don't mind me asking?

If you want Audie, for example, you make sure you have every personality on your island except peppy. Then, you are more likely to get peppies in your camp. Yes, you will need to TT in order to see campers in anything more than a blue moon.

First time I did it, I had 43 campers and never had duplicates. Second time, different day, 38 campers and no duplicates as well.

Alright, so it seems like you get no duplicates from the campsite, sooo I at least have a guaranteed chance of finding Judy sometime soon. The only problem is that now I'm afraid that she's the last villager I'll find in the 400 villager queue lol

i was actually just discussing this with some friends offsite a few hours ago! the (re?)poster of the campsite guide on reddit who was hunting for Coco has it written on her data sheet that she encountered the villager June 2 times in a row back-to-back, but every other person i've seen discuss their results after using the campsite method (both here and at other places) didn't seem to have any duplicate encounters at all.

at this point, i suspect that the campsite doesn't normally have a chance of producing duplicates like the mystery islands can, and the person who posted the reddit guide either mistyped a name or had a strange experience that i haven't seen anyone else mention dealing with. i am hoping the 'no duplicates' thing is true, because if it is, it means encountering a villager you're seeking with the campsite method is always an eventuality if you do it enough times! (rather than a random chance that you might not ever achieve)

I don't have any amiibo so I've tried this method. For 10 hours, I've never had any duplicates amongst the 70+ campers I've met until I got my dreamy, Elvis.

Villagers from the islands can appear again in the campsite though. I've had several reunions with them.

One thing's for sure though. I will never do this method again. I'll just buy amiibo cards.
