So my 3DS is officially broken.... planning on buying the new one on release. I'm going to connect to my NNID, but what will transfer? I know that the eshop balance will be there, but what about games and themes? I had Fantasy Life on it and now my data is gone forever. ;n; Will I be able to download themes and the game again or no?

You'd have to buy it again.. It really sucks and it happened to me too. :(

I haven't had to do this, but I think someone has said that they were able to contact Nintendo and get them to restore all the eShop games they had had? It took a lot of badgering, though, I believe.

As for the save data, if you actually can get the game switched to your new system, you could just pop the SD card into it for Fantasy Life and other games.

Granted, I've never had this happen to me, and I'm not sure where I read the above story, so I'm not exactly an authority in the matter or anything.

Sorry about your luck! :( Hopefully you can get a transfer.

I'm gonna call them and ask them to restore the game... I dropped it from like 2 feet and it has symptoms of water damage? Idk they should just restore it.

Well, I just looked it up, and people are saying that Nintendo won't do a restore-- but this is from 2012, so things may have changed since then? I'm really not very sure, but I don't see the harm in calling them and asking.

Mine was in 2011 so yeah, they might've changed how they deal with Downloaded games since then. (The 3DS is seriously almost 4 years old?!)

Yup, time for a new handheld console from Nintendo in 2016, New 3DS will only keep the momentum till ten

It will be fine don't worry. All of your stuff is on the NNiD, you can easily re-download digital games you have already purchased off settings in the Eshop, and themes in the theme store. You just need to ask Nintendo to disconnect it first from your old 3DS. As you can't have the same NNiD on more than one 3DS. What these guys are referring to is when there was no NNiD yet on the 3DS. If you ever lost you 3DS, etc, your stuffed unless you had the serial number on the back of the 3DS and some proof depending.

For example one time back in 2011 - 2012 - 2013 (IDK now, it was too long ago) my friend's 3DS got ran over by a car. He rang up Nintendo and they added all the downloads he had on that 3DS to his brand new one for a small fee. He had tons of games so yeah. He got there in the end.

2016? Wow, just, no.

The new 3DS hasn't even launched yet here. 2016 is way too soon considering the 'new 3DS' is a substantial upgrade that most people already feel a bit forced to buy. Mid-late 2017 at the latest for an entirely new handheld so that I can get more than 12 months out of the 'new' 3DS at least.

I thought that on Nintendo systems (3DS/Wii U) your downloads were linked to the console you bought and/or downloaded them on and not your NNID?

That's how it use to be before the NNiD on the 3DS.

I know all this crap because a year ago my 3DS broke lol.
