Nintendo Wii U - is it worth it?

It's worth it for Pikmin 3. Unless you don't like Pikmin... in which case honestly save yourself the money until there are more games out. By this time next year though, Nintendo should have their **** together on that front.

You're not missing anything. Unless you're a really big fan of Pikmin or Mario Bros, you should save your money and wait for Smash Bros to come out.

This is the reason why I don't have one.

I think the WiiU is good (from gameplay and **** I've watched), I just think it's ****ty because it has no games out atm.

as mentioned a few times, once Ninty gets their "**** together" (quote by jubs. pls ur admin dont use tht language tyvm), the system will become a lot better.

But yeah, I don't have a WiiU, but I do plan on getting one, either early November once my exams finish, around Christmas when the sales are on, or early 2014.

I guess tho it just depends on what type of games you like most (for me, only PS games I like are ratchet & clank, LBP and Spyro). Spyro is pretty ****ed up now and LBP doesn't have much replay value, and ratchet & clank just isn't the same, so for me, the WiiU wins over PS4 (as I like a variety of Nintendo games). But like I said, really depends on what types you prefer.

I don't have a WiiU, but I'll probably get one after my exams are finished (which finish like November 6), or early 2013

I don't have one, but none of the games on it interest me at all. In contrast, I already have a fully paid off PS4 preorder because I'm more interested in Watchdogs and Destiny than anything currently on the WiiU.

I may get one for the new LoZ (not Wind Waker HD) or the HD Animal Crossing. But that's still a huge maybe.

The whole reason why I became interested in getting the Wii U is because of the upcoming Mario Kart 8... but I think I've watched enough videos and read a lot of things about the Wii U enough to want it for the other things it provides as well... I really like how for some games, if someone wants to watch TV, you can still continue playing the game on the controller and you won't be interrupted... also, I like the whole Miiverse idea, and being able to discuss with others the games you've played and more, right through the gaming console... I also feel that I will be more into the games that Nintendo do and will have for the Wii U rather than the games that the PS4 and Xbox One will have... I'm looking forward to getting one. :)

I plan on getting one sometime soon but I'd want to start saving up now. I think it looks like a very good console and I just saw some videos on youtube about Super Mario 3d World and it looks awesome. 2 of my cousins have it so I have played it a good few times and 5 player is so fun, especially on Luigi's Mansion and Find Mario.

You'll probably want to wait a bit to buy the Wii U unless you view any of the current games as must plays (which I can understand for NSMBWU and Pikmin 3). Also, as a warning, I thought ZombiU was a waste of money, and the Lego game was a solid 9/10 in my book.

Also, I recommend buying the deluxe model, it's worth the $50, and Nintendo Land can supply you with a bit of fun.

Unfortunately for me, my TV is too small for the Wii U. :/ About 10% of the image is cut off. 5/5 on each side, so if you don't have a TV on the large end of the spectrum, wait a bit.

Before reading this thread I was pretty much dead set against getting the Wii U but, it does sound like it may be worth it. I guess I can justify it as investing in my daughter's future since she wants to be a game designer ;)

I bought a WiiU for my younger brothers since they're still kids and can't afford new consoles, but I'm passing on the console even considering the upcoming titles. I have no desire to play the next incarnation of SSB, Mario Kart, Party, etc. and more of the same from their flagship IPs, unless we're talking about Metroid, Star Fox, or F-Zero, but I won't hold my breath. That said, my favorite third party developers have either shown no sign of wanting to develop for WiiU, said they have no plans to, or are making multi-platform titles on PS3/PS4 that I already own/will own. I'm more interested in Sony IPs and exclusives that I feel take more risks/are more inspired, besides. When the WiiU becomes as substantial as the 3DS, then I'll be more interested.

im waiting for a new color or edition idk I don't like white or black so idk

i'll get one when ac comes out for it

I'm looking forward to getting a Wii U someday, but out of curiosity... how big is your tv? Mine isn't a huge big screen either... I think it's a 32" or a 40"... not entirely sure of it though.

Either of those is plenty of room. You shouldn't need to worry. I think they were exaggerating just a little.

I've got a Wii U, it's good in which you can actually video call your friends on the Wii U, there's also the Wii U GamePad, which can be tilted and there's Pok?mon Rumble U, which you can use figures to place on the Wii U GamePad and the toy Pok?mon are brought into the stage. There's plenty more games that are coming out, such as Super Mario 3D World.

Indeed it is worth getting, but it really depends which games you enjoy the most.

I don't have a Wii U (because of a lack of interesting games) or PS4 (for obvious reasons) but if I didn't already have a PS3 I would consider a PS4. I don't really see any good games out for the Wii U that I would play and I think the PS4 will have better graphics and more games, not to mention that the online store has a better selection esp. if you become a PS Plus member. I have been a nintendo fan for so many years but I haven't felt like they have been doing that great the past few years. :(
