nintendo should update "starter" villager houses. who is with me?

i don't know if this a popular consensus, but i know a lot of my friends (and people here) are upset that starter villagers get the ugly interior treatment. FOREVER. (well unless you move them out, but should we really do this just for that?)

it's not fair to them! it's not their preferred furniture. meanwhile, smugs & snooties will arrive with their fancy houses. now it suddenly makes sense that smugs & snooties don't appear until the 6th move in-- for this very reason!

i was hoping that TT peeps would tell us, yes yes after a few months they get their original furni & wallpaper. but alas, no. i hope they patch this in? it's weird that the story & island is progressing. aka, no longer deserted. even people that don't even tt have developed islands now. yet they'll stay with the DIY houses.

I definitely think they should add this as an option. It's a shame if you get a villager you like but they're stuck with basic wooden furniture instead of their own unique interior.

I'm also a fan of the idea of having the option to 'reset' a villager's interior as well, in the event you give them furniture or something you don't like.

it bothers me so much that they cant have their actual furniture. its one of the main reasons why i moved out my starter jock and lazy (he went to a new home so he got his real house now). my starter uchi and peppy were diva and tabby who i love so much i went out of my way to buy their amiibos so when i eventually move them out i can bring them back in their true home

me and my sister were talking about this a while back
i wanted to start my game with axel and reneigh on my island but unfortunately i got dom and agnes, then i was actually glad i didn't get who i wanted because the starter houses were so bad

i was fine when they were in tents but as soon as the starters got houses i feel like they should have automatically got their original furniture

that would be a cool feature. like, imagine their house is swarming with bugs and fishes? it could be like an isabelle conversation feature, same as their clothes but for their houses.

It should definitely happen at some point, but I just wish their houses were more customizable in general. I gave my starter a bed and he just placed it right next to his sleeping bag. I wish the villagers were a little smarter than that, and also accepted wallpaper and floorings.

Perhaps have it behind a wall, like when you reach certain amount of points in the AAD your villagers are like "Wow I should step up my game!", or allow us to gift them their unique furniture so they slowly replace everything (and please no duplicates, if I give you a bed, replace your old bed not have suddenly 2)

i opened a a similar thread a few day before,
i fully agree with u, i dont mind working hard for their house, make diys, pay, w8 time.. everything it takes to earn it.
and i also think the game should reward you for sticking with ur "original ones".

i happen to start with villagers i like, and have HAD in the past. lyman & shari. until i learned this, and suddenly agreed to let shari go. lyman is staying though. i don't have his amiibo, plus i can't stand some of the other jocks. i'm just glad his furniture & wallpaper are green at least, like his coloring. but my other starters don't even have furniture that matches them. especially jeremiah who is electric blue, but house is a natural brown.

but yeah, initially i was sad i didn't meet punchy on the islands. but now, that was definitely a blessing.

It makes me glad that I didn't get Sally (or anyone else) first.
I wish I had Claude's amiibo card...

The option would be nice, though honestly I really like the starter interior for peppies. Audie was one of my first three move-ins and I feel like the starter interior fits her more than her actual interior. Would really like to do something with the first two villagers' homes though. I can't stand the wooden block furniture that my Cherry has, I visited a friend who also has her and was startled at how gorgeous her actual house is. So yeah, the option would be appreciated, without the hassle of booting and reinviting.

i definitely agree. while i don’t find the default interiors to be awful, it sucks that your starting 5 are stuck with underwhelming basic interiors ;w;

I had Stitches on my last island in this room, he looked so bad in it.

thats the max ive gotten punchy's house to look less bad, gave him many things to hang, wallpapers floors and rugs but nothing helped.

oh god, that looks like hard work. i give you kudos as that's very similar to his o.g. house, just minus the wallpaper & flooring. now, if only they would change it when you gift them

I agree, I have Punchy and I've really grown to like him but his house....
One of my friends was surprised when one of his starter villagers moved to my town and when he went to visit she had a really cool house

the only one i was fine with was the peppy house
i got maddie as my starting peppy and i don't really like her original house so i was fine with this but the others had to GO! lol

he's my baby, i spoil him too much and he deserves. happy he's being spoiled somewhere else too lol <3
