Nintendo, I Am Disappoint...

But in what way could they improve it? There really aren't any physical improvements that they can make, and any software improvements can be adding via a system update.

And then, even if there was an obvious revision imaginable, that doesn't guarantee that Nintendo will ever go through with it. Hell, the Wii could be upgraded heavily, but Nintendo hasn't done a thing to it since launch, with the exception of a few system updates and new peripherals.

Doesn't the 3DS have shotty battery life? That's something that could be improved.

+ they'll probably make the screen bigger, or the size of the 3DS.

That is one thing that they could improve on, however, the battery life really isn't that bad to begin with. Yes, when you turn the 3D and screen brightness up all the way, the battery only lasts a few hours, but that's comparable to most smartphones. It takes double the power to push out 3D graphics, so of course the battery is going to be drained fast. I'm sure Nintendo put the best battery they could afford in the 3DS. Maybe down the line there will be advances in battery technology or batteries will become cheaper, allowing Nintendo to make a 3DS with better battery life, but even if they do that it's not really a revision, just a 3DS with a better battery. And I doubt they would do that, unless they were planning on making a complete system revision to go along with it, and like I've already discussed, I don't see how they could do that.
