Saw the post on Gamefaqs and my blue light wasn't on.
Closed the 3DS and put it in sleep mode for a few minutes. Opened the lid and the blue light was on.
Opened my spare town set in summer and Pete was waiting with 15 coupons and a message to check my mail box.
Opened my main town on the same 3DS and it got nothing. It might be one Cartridge per 3DS for the tree/coupons.
I'm okay with my spare town getting the coupons. It will help buy more Sanrio items when the cards arrive.
Plan on checking my main town again to see if the mayor gets her tree at 5pm. If not I'll open my other 3DS, get the tree and send one over.

I think this is probably the case unless anyone can confirm otherwise. Anyway, glad to see that the trees have made it to the US, that puts more legit trees in circulation for those that still need it. I'm not too bummed that EU doesn't seem to have them (yet?) since we got the Sanrio cards, it seems like a slightly uneven trade-off, but at least everything can be traded.

Nope. My N3DSXL is always in real-time and it's on today like normal.
TT'd to the 13th, 14th, AND the 15th. Still no tree! (Also Fauna is in boxes if anyone wants her. Only her shirt is different(Thanks, Punchy. |D), but everything else is original.)
(If they made it to where only 1 copy per 3DS/Nintendo Account gets it then I'll be kinda salty. I only have 1 digital and 1 physical copy, and Cyclone is the physical(aka the one that got the tree/coupons). Starview is the town I wanted to get the stuff with(aka my digital copy.)

I have US versions and don't TT and didn't get any for neither of my two towns. I'm going to put into sleep mode and see if that triggers it. My boyfriend ended up getting his today. =^=
It's most likely like this because people with multiples towns only got it in one of their towns.
You can always transfer them in your other town via my station if you want to. Or ask a friend.
I bought a 3DS and wii-u in game for 400TBT.... now I have like 8 of them if not more...

I have 4 NA physical copies of the game and 3 3ds. I've been able to get the trees in 3 of my towns, but not the 4th that shares a 3ds with one of my other towns. So maybe you can only get the trees once on a 3ds. But what about those players that have a physical and digital copy, can they only get the trees in one of their towns? That would suck.
I'll keep checking my 4th town for the next several days to see if they get it or not.

I managed to get the tree and the MEOW coupons by putting the 3DS into sleep mode and shake it for a few minutes. That triggered the spotpass (blue) light to go on.
I'm gonna try for my second town but we'll see.

OK so I finally caught up to 12/16/2016. Loaded up my Mayor.
And... No Pete. No mail. So I AM crazy.
Looks like my physical copy won the tree/coupons while my digital copy goes home with nothing.
Wonderful. Thanks Nintendo. They should've made it so ALL copies of NL get the gift, regardless of 3DS used. Had I known that it was 3DS/Account locked(I didn't), I would've asked my brother to borrow his so both towns would've got the tree/coupons. But noooooooo.
I'm kind of mad? But I shouldn't be?? I mean it's a stupid white virtual tree(that I don't even care for anymore, I forgot I obtained one from a giveaway earlier this month) yet I can't help but feel annoyed?? (I really hate myself for being mad at these kinds of things.)
