Hello,

I wanted to ask, for those of you who have played or are playing Pocket Camp and NH, at this time with the updates, which do you prefer? I am trying to decide whether PC is worth it or not because I see so much more content as compared to NH. If NH is going to get a major update anytime soon (I'm hoping for the Brewster and Gyroids) then maybe I won't consider PC anymore. I guess I am having trouble trusting Nintendo on providing regular updates or something like that because I seem to notice that a lot of things are being added more frequently to PC. Maybe it is just me. Anyway, I would love to hear your opinions :)

If you prefer playing mobile gatcha type games over console games or PC games, then play Pocket Camp. If you like playing more developed games with more to them than just gatcha RNGs, then play one of the main line AC games.

I haven't played pocket camp for like 2 years but I'm interested to find out why you think it has more content than NH?

Pocket camp is really very fun, i stopped playing because of NH, but the items are leagues better. I say download it and try it, theres only a limited amount of areas you can decorate in PC so once you’re done with them you can put the game down.

Judging on the items added with NH's wedding event, NH will catch up in time in the furniture department

Well, PC is free, so I mean, you could play both of them? But with AC games, the point of the games is to be a slow build. They don't give you everything that they have in store for you right away. Even with PC, more and more things game out as the game developed. It helps keep the game interesting because without it, it someone could complete the game within a day or so (if they TT), and then it just becomes a grinding game after that. So there will always be a slow start to AC games, imo. (This coming from someone that has played AC since GC days.) Just how like we just got Redd, Leif, and the wedding event, there will always be things to look forward to, for a good while. I think NH will surprise us with the things we want like Brewster and the Gyroids, but we just have to be patient.

The paywalls in Pocket Camp make content that was easy to access on release a lot harder to get right now and new content is almost always limited to a chunk of it being behind a paywall.
Event items you can earn via fishing/gyroid hunting/flowers always come with a set of items only accessible via leaf tickets that are very hard to earn. And you need those to earn points in some of the mini-games.
So much has changed since the release, so much stuff you need for basic decoration etc. are behind massive paywalls now that I have a hard time imagening myself getting into it if I was a new comer.
The items you get to decorate are either very good or really poor re-colours of the same sets, you can never tell. But the variety is there and the animals will play and interact with them, something sorely missing from New Horizons.
The base game is free so I would recommend downloading and playing ACPC for a few weeks, see if you are having fun and willing to sink time into it.
As for NH, it's fun. It's not as good or immersive as I found New Leaf to be, but I hope the updates will help push the longevity. The thing keeping me going right now is the community. Something that isn't present in PC.

i definitely prefer new horizons. pocket camp is fun and has some really cool items but it’s lacking everything that makes ac fun for me - i’ve played it on and off since it was released and found that its only fun for me for about a week before it starts to get boring and i stop playing ;;

While NH definitely isn't perfect I'll take it over PC any day. PC was fun for a while but I ended up quitting months ago because it just got too repetitive and...greedy. Paying real $$$ just for the chance of getting the items I really wanted from those stupid cookies? I fell for it a few times (because PRETTY! and tbh I still think the items are better than what we currently have in NH) but ended up with so many duplicates and last I heard you still can't even trade? Nah.

In my opinion Its not a fair comparison because your comparing a Mobile game versus a Console game. They do function differently. Pocket camp is a typical mobile game it is “free” but its goal is trying to get you spend as much money As possible and It works(plus there is a thread in pc subform about how much people have spent o_O) Pocket camp and game like it rarely appeal to me. I feel like I just clicking through it and not doing much but that just me and obviously people are enjoying it. I enjoy the main series games the best.

PC got extremely stressful for me after a while with the unyielding and unforgiving events that just eat up your free time and loom uneasily over your mind whenever you try to play or do something else while waiting for stuff to refresh. It's like a needy significant other, demanding your attention every 3 hours or so if you want to get everything - it cut a nasty hole into my sleeping schedule until I quit.

That said, the furniture is pretty sweet.

NH. While I do not play PC, I have seen lots of the furniture in it from pictures online and I do have to agree they have a lot more furniture and cool furniture at this point in time, but as Jacob said NH will most likely catch up at some point. I def prefer NH over PC, as in the few minutes I did play PC it did not feel very AC to me, and I do not like the idea of micro transactions in an AC game. In addition, as of right now the images and graphics in NH look better in my opinion (as in trees and stuff like that even though a phone may have better overall graphics).

i like new horizons better just because theres more creative freedom...although i kinda wish they would move pc's leveling system into nh

How can PC and NH be even compared? They’re so different. Pocket camp is missing the very essence of animal crossing (building a life with the animals and living with them) and it’s just a get me this get me that game and you’ll just decorate? It’s like a downgraded version of Happy Home Designer? It has more stuff but what to do with stuff? AC isn’t a decorating game. It’s a life sim. I’m really confused.

PC adds a lot of content because it is a mobile game and needs to profit every month. It is free to play, but many things are blocked behind paywalls... and it's expensive. To buy a full terrain set (your camp setting aesthetic) is like $40... and they come out with a new one every month or so. Want the rare item from a cookie? Could spend $50 on cookies (lootboxes) and still not get it. You could also get it for free if you're lucky, but playing as free to play, you have accept you won't get everything you want.

I had fun in PC and played daily until NH, now I don't even want to log in. NH is a full game... yes, it's missing things and the PC item sets are gorgeous, but there's a lot missing in PC too and much less to do except collect and decorate.
