NFC reader for Nintendo questions

Okay so I just found out that the Nintendo 3DS xl that I bought doesn?t have an nfc reader in it. And they are super expensive online!!!!! Does anyone know how I can find one for not much money? And I ordered something already. I?ll link it here. Please let me know if it works!

I don't see any way that product would remotely even work for amiibo stuffs

That wont work sadly I have had my old reader for years now back when they were $20.

I'm not sure about that reader, but it doesn't look anything like the official reader so I would be wary of it. I bought mine from the Nintendo store online last year for only $20, but I just checked and it doesn't look like they have anymore in stock. Maybe you can find a cheap copy of the Happy Home Designer bundle that comes with a reader? I think I saw some on eBay for under $20, but I didn't look into the details completely.

The "new" Nintendo 3DS/XL/2DS are the ones that come with the reader as part of the system. For the others, you'll need ot hope you can find an official one somewhere.
