New York Senate approves Marriage Equality Act.

That's ridiculous, no one loses anything when two people get married, but when someone gets murdered, well someone does!

In fact, that comparison was beyond ridiculous, it was ****ing stupid. comparing gay marriage to murder? That's one of the most hateful things I've ever seen.

I didn't say I believe it, I'm gay and for equal rights. I'm saying it's how conservative Christians probably receive it. Radical beliefs and radical views. When you believe something is wrong with all your heart, you're probably devastated when other people allow it.

Well that's not what you said :L

Ok, here is a tip. When you are going to state your beliefs in a defensive and persuasive manner, in order to be effective you can not offend the opposing party with blatant and useless bias. Not all who oppose gay marriage are Catholics, and the ones who aren't always conservative. Not only that but since no one on this forum (at least from what I've seen) has insulted your views, is there a purpose in insulting those who are against same-sex marriage?

This of it this way. Homosexuals are the african americans* of 2011. (Tried not to make that sound racist.)
Not saying anyone would remember from being there, but from reading about it, remember how african americans* were treated (and some still are)? However, it was reduced increasingly over time. My dad's one of those people that anger me. He sees Obama on the tv and shuts him down because he's a democrat. He hears about some gay rights movement and gets upset because "back in his day..." and the such. Things have not changed. "Nothing new is under the sun. ~King Solomon" Every has the right, regardless of country, skin color, beliefs, sex, sex preference, etc. to be free. We all have free will. We all have the right to express out opinions (even though in most other countries, you can be killed for it). You have that right, it's just being suppressed. Gay marriage is one of the choices (being Christian here) that God gave us. He lets us do pretty much whatever we want and we shouldn't have to be denied such freedom by the government.

You can say black people without being racist?
And it's nice to see you take a fairly sane stance on this.

Whenever I say "black" around my black friends they get pissed. I mean, like, eyes are flaming and they're rollin their sleeves up like I've murdered their cousin or something. (Not really). They usually just hit me reallllllly hard.

And thanks. Mr. Forming My Own Opinions Here

I've never got in trouble for it. Must be a culture thing. Meh.

I must say, I'm impressed when I compare the Bacon Boy now to the Bacon Boy of two years ago.

I just stopped listening to my dad rave about everything. You can't possibly enjoy life worrying about stuff like that. You can't really control it; "selavi" as it were.

Also, I noticed, when you stop worrying, you start understanding more and you start learning more.

I'm just saying that same-sex marriage does insult people's beliefs and isn't just "if you don't like it don't get one."

But I'll take that to heart.

And stop being less of a ****ing drag as well.

I took very few cues from my parents when deciding my political and religious views, and I'm happy where it left me.

I may not be gay but the thought of two men holding hands watching the sunset makes me proud to be an American

Way to go NY!

(Oh, and to the smart Alec who said this will lead to polygamy - Why is it any concern of yours if I want to marry 2 or 200 wives?)

How is this related to polygamy? That makes no sense. It's like saying "If I buy chocolate ice cream, I will become a millionaire." Two completely different things entirely.
