New popularity lists?

I have just seen a thread on the villager trade section doing a poll for a new popularity list.
I also see the tier 1 and 2 villagers are different (obviously following the results of the poll).
So will this be the new 'official' chart we will follow when selling/buying villagers?
And ignore the other one?

I don't think so.

The other one is based on how popular a villager seems to be in the whole forum. It's based on what Hound00med and people who suggest changes notice around here like how many times people seem to look for certain villagers and how much they're willing to buy/trade a villager for.

The new one (if it's the one I'm thinking of) is based on the preferences of people who took the poll and that's just a small fraction on everyone who uses the forum. My biggest issue with it is that you can really like a villager and vote it as a high tier without actually wanting to have that villager in your town or looking for it. What I got from that thread is that it was an experiment and an alternative list and not a replacement.

Both of them have advantages and disadvantages and if anything they should be used side by side.

Right now it's an experiment. However I believe they said the poll was to get the list started so they could see who's popular. I believe once the results of the poll are posted, they will be doing the same thing HoundOOmed does.

It's in the Villager Trading Plaza. Only Tier 1 and 2 have been posted.

I guess it'll be the unofficial chart until it gets stickied. We don't nessessarily have to follow it at the moment, but if you want to follow it you can choose to do so. I think one of the co-owners of the thread stated this in the popularity tiers stickied thread, although it may be the looking for i'm not sure.

That's the link to the thread on trading plaza, there's a list of tier 1 and 2's at the bottom, there's a big difference with a lot of villagers.
I was just wondering since I'm hoping to get some new villagers on my second cartridge and I'll be saving up TBT for them, was going to try and work out an approximate price for all the ones I want but I wasn't sure which list sellers would be using.
I mean Zucker and Marina have dropped into tier two on that list, it's a big price difference.
