That would actually be a really nice Nook Miles sink. As long as it doesn't take real money to buy bundles, then I wouldn't mind having more ways to spend Nook Miles.

I never really liked any of the Mario fortune cookie furniture from NL (didn’t play PC long enough to see them). But, I might find a use for it. Any new furniture being added is kinda a plus in my book, though I honestly would have preferred something else.

Seeing how they locked qr designs behind a subscription as well as dream suite, them implementing a gacha system like the fortune cookies in PC or making some furniture available as paid dlc, is my biggest fear since I can’t afford even “cheap” dlc and in PC, rarely had enough coupons to get cookies and didn’t want to spend real money. If they implement the fortune cookies from PC at the cost of Nook Miles only, then, I’m fine with that. That could be fun, though Idk if they’d put as much effort updating the cookies as they did in PC seeing the (lack of) effort/good planning they’ve put into releasing a variety of furniture bit by bit in ACNH (in addition to the seasonal sets we all already knew about).
I'm wondering why they bothered announcing it so far in advance... The items are likely going to be the same as the ones from previous games (not complaining, I miss the Peach parasol every day) so it's hardly worth getting excited about :/
Apparently I'm in the minority, as I'm excited for this. Although, chances are good I won't be playing regularly in March of next year. Perhaps these items are the tractor beam I'll need to be sucked right back in.

If we have to wait until the 35th anniversary of Zelda to get Zelda items (And fingers crossed, maybe Zelda villagers), that's gonna suck.
The 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda is February 21st of next year though. It's not that far away.
The 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros is September 13th of this year, so it would've had better impact if they'd released it this month. I imagine this is something they recently decided to do though, so they have to develop it. Either that or Nintendo has some sort of release schedule for the (non-bug patch) updates and they want to wait until Mar10 Day.

I really like the idea of having to buy them using Nook Miles. The game doesn't give you enough to do with the Nook Miles. I have over 200k Nook Miles now, and I don't even grind them. There's no way I'm going to spend them all.
Just because some of us aren't excited for Mario items (I know I'm not) doesn't mean there aren't people who are! That is good enough reason for them to announce it now. It is just a tiny sneak peak. The bigger picture of the announcement is they are basically saying that they will still be adding content into next year.
I've always enjoyed the mario items in the games, but jeez talk about announcing it way too early if it's going to take until March 2021. I feel like they could realistically get these made within a month or two, and put them in the next, or following update...
Bleh. I'm just hoping it's different from what we had before. It's all taking too long and I know new leaf was its own game but having beent had that from the beginning in new leaf and now it's a "whole new update for next year" for new horizons just leaves a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth but I'm assuming they have their reasons.
