Wow! Love the town map you got there! I'd say your house would look good near the top of the map (where the train tracks are) or even in the area in front of the bridge.
I like the spots other posters have mentioned - if near the waterfall I'd want to make sure I could get a bridge in there as well (ie a house & a bridge before the large pond).
I think its possible.
I also have a town where I placed the Mayor by the railway tracks - wouldn't like it in real life but made sense on my map.
The other place I would look at is by the dock ramp - possibly on the right hand side.
I'm a fan of being close to my neighbours - BUT - its likely those 4 houses by the cliffs will attract further villagers - its happened in my town. And it makes a nice village effect.
If you place your house on its own its likely to get a villager plotting near it.
Wherever I placed the Mayor's house I would make sure there wasn't enough space in front of it for a villager to plot.
Alternatively plot reset from 6th villager onwards (I did that I'm my latest town).
I think it would be nice on the top right corner around the train tracks. Retail isnt too far and leaves you with decent room to landscape around your house if you like doing that
Personally I'd say just north of the river, inside the curve (just above the bridge). You're pretty much in the middle of town and not too far from the office, Re-Tail, docks, etc.
i like the space inside the bend of the river, next to the bridge. i think it'd look kinda cute there, and it seems convenient with the dock directly below it. you don't have to take my advice though, so good luck!
