Also a very quick note, I heard it creates unremovable ghost items (like you can't see it and you can't place anything on those areas because it bugged, the game considers the specific tiles used by the duped items). So I hope dupers get their spaces bugged LOL. Imagine duping stuff only to get areas permanently useless. Hope it was worth it. :)
I looked the glitch up and apparently it's fixable if you put it in storage again (sorry if i'm feeding info i'm not gonna dupe)

Guys, stop giving the developers heck over 'they never tested this gameeeee!!!!"

They definitely test it. You can't find every glitch, it's impossible. Glitches are weird, and the littlest thing can happen to cause a massive glitch. If you know how this specific dupe glitch works, how do you think devs would even think "we should do this specific thing."

Developers cannot account for everything, but they can fix it.

Now I feel guilty, I was gonna duplicate some TVs but now I'm just gonna not. I already TT which is considered cheating by some. Don't want to be a cheater cheater

Yeah, why are tarantulas so common now??? They used to be a rare occurance in New leaf.
LOL

Nope. I won't explain in detail but there will be certain areas/squares that are bugged and hidden. Your character can go through those tiles but you can't place tables on them or put the item on the low table. It's invisible and you cannot use the storage to "put it back in" because it's invisible and if you're not really a veteran with doing risky bugs like this (like you don't know how to fix it) it will render that area useless and be bugged until you find a way.

Maybe they haven't realized it yet but I had a friend come to me about it. They can't put the item on the surfaces anymore. I knew what was going on the moment they told me that. LOL.

oh thanks for the explanation! I confused it with something else

Time-travelling isn't cheating, ignore the purist.

However do not do this glitch because it causes void spaces where furniture can't be placed, which can lead to faulty load times or save times, which cause corrupted save files.

Do you really want to risk losing 6 weeks of progress?

I mean, as long as you don't take advantage of others and sell them for high prices or whatever, I'm sure nobody will say anything about it.

True, I don't feel like risking my save files, I only have paid like 10000000000 nmt for my villagers

Had someone message me asking for a link to it, told them no, they replied they found it themselves but were too lazy to attempt it. Sad that someone on here would want to try and dupe like that.

omg its me!! im just curious really i promise!! omg am i banned? did i do something wrong to ask for the link and just look at how its done? oh no!!

OH SNAP (Jk jk i have no business in this but being curious isn't a crime.)

On the other note I wonder if any AC youtubers are gonna make videos about this.

Thanks lol

No problem!

This is a much more simplified explanation:

However do not do this glitch because it causes void spaces where furniture can't be placed, which can lead to faulty load times or save times, which cause corrupted save files.

Coding is very VERY finicky and any small "oopsies" can destroy the saves. Since the "ghost" item is pretty much invalid (but existing) it might spread or maybe not. I'm just equating this to Pokemon's MissingNo. but yes, I'm not saying this because of jealousy or purist stuff but bricking your game over dispensable currency isn't worth it.

Keep yourself in harm's way esp. when multiplayer is a risk already... (can potentially wipe your save) 😭

Oh no that missingNo garbage, I heard about that and was interesting in learning about it cause I found it cool but it broke your game.

Nope no nononononono. If the ghost item spreads it'll be ac gamecube's paper airplane all over again

Why does everyone hate glitches and TT now? I swear all these newcomers from NH want to limit their experience and everyone else's lol.
TT is another story.
We hate glitches because it ruins the game's economy and makes NMT worth like 300k IGB each at worst when the game puts them at being worth, like, around 10k each

No one actually hates TTing. People who are verbally abusive towards TTers are just projecting their internal problems by shifting blame on people. (Maybe not? but there's people who kinda compared TTing to war crimes of the world so LMAO idek what's their damage)

Glitches on the other hand are VERY dangerous and could destroy every single effort you put into. I don't know what is the extent of this glitch but it can flag spaces as unusable and unfixable. Making that area useless (since you can't even put stuff on it.)

Maybe the people who are doing it are aware of that consequences so it's their choice and not rly my problem but for those who are unaware, a heed of warning when someone temp. blinded by greed could help. Human nature isn't exactly known for rational decision-making.

This reminds me of the app people are using to scan in villagers without amiibo - I guess using it in your own game is fine, but if someone was to abuse it for making profit, it just makes the game's economy worse.
