Okay, so lately my laptop has been overheating a lot and randomly shutting down because I think my battery is loose. I'm scared that one day I'm going to loose a project because of this. I constantly save drafts, but I don't want to put up with this anymore -.-
So I asked my bro what he suggest for me, he says a netbook.
So....any suggestions?
Here the things i want or things i do:
no lagg (idk i think that has to have something to do with my actually)
fast when opening a document
Microsoft word
watch youtube a lot!!!
Firefox or google chrome
No Overheating!!!!!! bah!
and long battery life

Lol I know that a lot of things, but does anyone find any matches? Any suggestions? Buying a really expensive and luxurious one is not a option!!! I don't want a laptop :( I can compromise somehow if that what is takes! :P I don't want the ipad or any tablet touch screen thingy.

EDIT: I would get the laptop if it's not really expensive like a mac or any other expensive brand. No overheating plz

hmmm sadly only way I know to get a really good one is a pretty expensive route.... but what is your price range that really determines it.

I accidentally the whole sentence?

a netbook sounds like it'll be fine for the little that you do. all that you'll have to worry about is if the hard drive will be big enough for you. you won't be able to do itunes/media player while doing work and whatnot (without it slowing down a bit) but you'll be able to do them separately.. i guess. small hard drive =/= music space.

http://www.openoffice.org/ <-- that will fix all of your microsoft office needs. thank me later.

just make sure it has a hyperthreaded processor, and 2 GB of ram. your brother will probable be able to pick out the right one, so just ask him, really.

for what you're saying you want to do (all internet junk) a NETbook is better/more cost efficient.

Get a laptop.
Also about your laptop, It happened to me as well on mine. You need to open it up on the back by unscrewing and it cleaning out all of the dust.
Trust me, It works.
Unless your Laptop is in really really bad condition, Just clean it and keep it.

My big daddy thinks laptop.
But... If you stay at home all the time...
Get a PC, It's much easier to fix then.
I'm just saying... you don't have to get a PC.

You can get a fan and put it under your laptop. My laptop used to shut down due to overheating, but I use a fan now, and it's fine.

lolBioshock

My sister Netbook overheats (ACER)

If you're going the laptop route i'd recommend a Toshiba, they're fairly reliable, my girlfriend and I both have had ours for a few years, hers overheats now but we got a cooling pad and its fine (its likely because she refused to splurge on a decent processor), mine has been serving me well for a mid-range gaming/school laptop for a few years now.

Never, ever, ever, get a netbook unless you plan to travel a lot and do nothing but email and maybe check facebook, in which case battery life should be your main concern.
