Giveaway Neester14's Swirl giveaway! WINNER ANNOUNCED!

Haiku:

Forever alone.
No friends or family now,
Sitting quietly.

Joke:
What did the piece of bacon say to the tomato? Lettuce be together!

Haiku #27
One flower
on the cliffside
nodding at the canyon.

Joke - To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research.

Haiku:

Down the river flows,
Cascading gently upstream:
Rose petals floating.

Joke:
What do you get when you put 3.14 in a mirror? Pie! :D

And doesn't clear his inbox

Temple bells die out.
The fragrant blossoms remain.
A perfect evening.

Joke - I can't believe I got fired from the calendar factory. All I did was take a day off.

Hey people that are in the giveaway! As you may have heard, neester is leaving TBT, so he will not resume to the giveaway until about a month from now. I just thought I might as well say it to everyone who is unaware. Hope I helped! :)

Will that mean we can continue to input entries until he returns, or is the date he posted when we should stop?

Haiku:
Life is never good,
As yin always has a yang;
But don't give up hope.

Joke:
What type of flower likes to kiss? A tulip!

I'm honestly not too sure. If we didn't, I think that he could calculate entries A LOT easier. But, even then, we could still of course input entries as we pleased. Regular entry for me due to me being on a mobile device.

Hello ... coming on late at night to post a scary story ... a true one!

Early winter evenings on the rustic homestead were dark and wrapped in all kinds of imagined and real dangers. To a young girl this one particular night would put proof to all her fears, real and imagined.
Bedtime was approaching and Sylvia was hopping back and forth doing the frantic little pee pee dance. It was becoming urgent but in order to go, it meant a trip to the outhouse at the end of a rough and bushy trail, and it was a particularly black and inky night. Scudding dark clouds crossed ominously over a pale wisp of moon and deep shadows lay beyond the faint light of the cabin window. An idea born out of desperation took shape, and she decided she would just go a few feet into the clearing and squat down behind some bushes and tree stumps. She knew she wasn't supposed to do that, but her fear and urgency overrode the prickling of her conscience and her momma's stern reminders.
The door of the cabin opened suddenly and there was Momma in the square of light calling Sylvia's name. Two screams ripped through the black night ... one the bone chilling, blood curdling scream of a large cougar and the terrified scream of a frightened child. The golden feral eyes gleamed in the darkness as the large cat bounded effortlessly over Sylvia's head from a crouched position on a nearby stump and seemed to glide through the air for at least thirty feet, thudding to the ground and disappearing into the deep bushes on the periphery of the property.
Shaking with relief and sobbing with extreme fear Sylvia dashed into the comfort and security of Mother's arms. It was an experience she would never forget and a memory that would strike a note of terror for as long as she lived.

When midnight has come,
the process of life repeats
and life can go on.

Joke - I hated my job as an origami teacher. Too much paperwork.

In the morning light,
the glistening dew on plants
looks like a rainbow.

Joke - I heard a story about a broken pencil that I'd tell you, but it's pointless. :p

Sorry, it post-merged on it's own..

Winter-gray tree branch
hangs low, stricken by the storm
broken.. but alive.

The red impatient leaf,
dances in it's beauty,
drowns in it's embellishment.

Joke - What did the candle say to the other candle?
I'm going out tonight.
