Need someone to try & visit my town. Want to see if still having connection issues.

As the tittle says I want someone to try & visit my town. Can offer perfect pears & any fossils on my beach if you manage to visit.

Never had issues before, but last two visits failed. Need someone to try & then I'll know the problem is definitely on my end & need to troubleshoot it.

In the meantime does anyone know why you get the "fail to connect" message when you have no issues with internet & no problems with train travel before?

I have to sort this out as I have a giveaway for Colton running, and I don't want to mess people around.

Hey sorry I went away to try & troubleshoot it! I'll add you now & VM you. thanks! :)

Yeah I think it's a problem on your end. :( I found your town but it fails to connect to partner's device afterward. Error code 018 0511

Hey don't worry, thanks for the help but I think it's my router settings & the problem is on my end because you are the third person to try.

I'm going to go change the router settings & come back in few hours to test it then. Thanks again for trying.

No problem! It's pretty strange we can add eachother and you come up as available but still not being able to connect. Best of luck!

Pretty typical for routers really. Your devices can see that there is a compatable device/program on the other network and they can exchange some generalized packet transfers. But something more direct such as actually visiting one another's towns wont be possible.

OP if you haven't tried this already check to see if your router comes with a built in firewall and try forwarding some ports.

I tried that. I followed all the steps for creating a "demilitarized zone" etc but it was still having issues. I'm not good with computers so this was a long & tedious struggle & lots of reading /headaches.

I'm going to have to call Nintendo.
