a villager i want to keep, knox, is in boxes and i need someone to take care of him until i get space again can somebody please help?

I'm pretty sure you can just talk to him and tell him you don't want him to move. I've done it a couple of times. But then again, I could be wrong.

No, you can't in New Leaf. You could be able to do that in Wild World, but not in New Leaf. :\
Also @SuperAwesomeSauce, you have to cycle through 16 villagers before you can get Knox to move in again.

Bud actually did this to me. On one of the times I got him to move, I visited him in boxes to say good bye. During that convo, he brought up something about our great friendship and if I was really willing to let him go. I said yes, and he decided to stay anyway so we could get closer. It pissed me off and took another month before I could get rid of him
