My boyfriend just got a 3DS for his birthday and we play TOTALLY different kinds of games so I'd have no clue what he'd like. He plays stuff like Starcraft, Chrono Trigger, and EVE. Anyone have any recommendations for him?? So far I'm just getting him Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Thanks guys!! xx
The games you listed are not the type of games nintendo usually makes lol, so here's what i think,
Well it's my personal opinion that everyone should own mario kart 7, If he likes puzzles, professor layton and the miracle mask is really good, He'll probably like the upcoming Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies, and if you could get him to, I think that pokemon x and y are going to be absolutely amazing.

Also,
Luigi's Mansion is pretty good, and Sakurai (sakura?, however it's spelt) samurai on the Eshop is a very fun:very short, game. Paper Mario Sticker Star is funny, and fun. If he is into rhythm games, Rhythm thief and the emperor's treasure is surprisingly very good (was a little on the mushy side for me, but it was still good.) Mario Tennis Open is fun as long as you have wifi, because the single player is wicked wicked wicked short (i think i beat it in like 20mins, not counting unlocking stuff), and it does get old very quick.
If he likes RPGs, maybe he'd like Shin Megami Tensei IV? Or the Devil Survivor games. Kingdom Hearts 3D is also good, if he has enjoyed the Kingdom Hearts series.

Honestly if you are looking for a good challenging game, that is tons of fun, give Monster Hunter 3 ultimate a try! It's on sale for $20 on the eshop, but it ends today. I just picked myself up a copy of it a few days back, and I'm absolutely hooked. It's super fun, tons of weapons and Armor, gigantic boss battles, but it a bit more challenging then most games I've played. This is the first time I've played the monster hunter series, and it took a bit to get into the game, but now that I have a basic understanding of how it works, I absolutely love it. You can play with 3 other friends locally to take down huge beast, and they have tons of free DLC that you can download in game. I've already put 20 hours into the game, and have only managed to take down 3 big monsters, but I still have tons to go! Play the demo first and see for yourself. But I stand behind this game 100%!
