If you talk to each of your favorites three times every day one of them is bound to say something.
Don't do the talk to them until they think thing because a) that messes up your friendship and b) it doesn't always work for rumors.
Besides, it takes 5 days for one to move out and by then they'll DEFINITELY tell you. After this, I've never had anyone move out on me.

By messing up friendship, that's not what I meant. What I meant was I prefer to at least naturally just kind of talk to them instead of spamming them and this might sound stupid but I feel bad for bothering them so much ;-; Other people probably don't care, though.
