Name one thing you like about Nh that's better than nl

There's a lot of really good improvements but I think my favorite is placing furniture outside!

I love New Leaf, but I do agree with everyone here. I especially love the graphics and creativity that you can do with your island.

That villagers need an okay before they move. So this way if something takes me away from the game for a while I'm not going to risk coming back and someone I wanted to stay has left.
YES. Seriously, those who haven't played AC games before ACNH have no idea... villagers could move with zero warning. Leaving the game for an extended period of time could mean you'd lose your favorite villager. Plus, you had very little input on who moved in. Unless you play with other players at times, you were limited to the campsite and Amiibo in ACNL (and I think some cards in previous games, but I never heard of those until recently) and that was... about it. Something like Nook Miles islands, and the ability to invite random villagers from them and go "hunting" for villagers, was unimaginable for players like me!

It's so weird how ACNL was such a GIGANTIC improvement from City Folk (I just realized I keep saying "City Living" but that's Sims 😂) that it didn't seem like it could be improved... now, looking at screenshots from ACNL, I see the improvement is, in fact, really impressive.

I like that villagers can't move out without asking first unlike New Leaf. Way back in the day I didn't play my game for a few weeks and when I played again Coco had left without a word.

I loved new leaf, but I really love how the villagers look in new horizons. The game is just really pretty. I also like that villagers cant just move away whenever, that's part of the reason I havent check back in on my new leaf town. I've kept my villagers for years, I don't want to risk one of them moving away because I forgot to check back in on who wanted to move.

I like being have to have a say on who moves in and out of my town.
I like being able to move my house and my villagers houses anywhere.
The graphics are a lot nicer.

the graphics... i went back to new leaf to get references for something and WOW it's WAY crunchier than i remember. in comparison NH is just so pretty and smooth.

The amount of freedom you have in NH feels so nice. Moving whatever you want around aside from Resident Services, and terraforming are gigantic improvements. Plus the graphics are incredibly superior in NH.

The villager system is so much better as well. Forcing the player to be the one to decide if a villager moves is SUCH a huge improvement. Not having to worry if you haven't played in a while if one of your favorites moved is a very nice relief. Plus I personally really enjoy villager hunting on islands, even until this day.

Also crafting is pretty enjoyable with all of the variety of materials and DIYs. It would be nice if there was somewhere to easily store extra DIYs, or to mass craft items, but those are small complaints.

The graphics alone made this game superior.

I don't see myself playing New Leaf anymore. In fact, I clocked more hours in New Horizons than New Leaf.

I also love the part where you can't risk losing a villager due to inactivity.

Superior answer.

Honestly the graphics of Nl is what keeps me from buying the game again. It's only 20 dollars now but something about Nh..is just amazing. Nl was good for it's time but Nh is pretty..

I'm surprised nobody has said the sheer size of your island yet...picture how much smaller your NL village was compared to this...

I love the use of the word crunchier. I looked at old photos of nl..and it's fuuuzzzy

Oh yeah it's way bigger,, villagers houses take up less space too.

Pocket space. After NH came out, I went back and played my old Wild World and New Leaf towns, and especially in WW the limited pocket slots made things like picking fruit or fishing so much more tedious.

Omg yes we have so much space yet I still fill up my pockets!!

I like that you determine where villager houses go. In NL, they'd always appear in the worst places and villagers would always be moving onto my paths or into my perfect fruit orchard.

I also like that there's no more stinging jellyfish when you dive.

new leaf was my absolute favourite for years but decorating is definitely a lot better in new horizons. despite the current lack of furniture, new horizons still offers so much more freedom than in previous games with the new instalments of terraforming and placing furniture outside - despite any flaws that new horizons may have, these features definitely aren’t one of them aha.

granted, some of the pwps from new leaf were very pretty and i’d love to have them back (i’m looking at you, illuminated arch), there’s no beating being able to place stuff outside now aha
