My villagers never use doorplates...

I’ve been gifting doorplates and door ornaments to my villagers for the past week... But they never seem to decorate their doors with them? Is it just a matter or their use only being triggered in very random moments or... am I doing something wrong? I’m not talking about wall-mounted furniture for the inside of their homes, I know they’ll never use that, I’m talking about front door decoration stuff... I think it could look great for some villagers :/

By any chance are you giving them seasonal door decor? Like the toy day ornament one? I know they only put up seasonal decor when it's the right season.
If you wrap something with wrapping paper, I find them more likely to use it as well. Is your friendship level low? Maybe that's the problem. Although I have had them put up wreaths with pretty low friendship....
I suppose just keep trying to give them the item and they should give in!

Honestly not sure otherwise... Whenever I craft a flower wreath for a villager, I wrap it and give it to them. The next day it's always on their door.

I'm just so used to wrapping everything I give them honestly! And I always carry around a stack of wrapping paper. Hopefully that works for you! That'd be pretty hilarious if it did, sassy villagers who want nice shiny paper on their door decor.

back when i was having my own wreath issues, i read somewhere that people were having better luck when they gifted only one wreath per day rather than multiple; this worked for me so maybe you could try and see if it helps any? :’o
